I bought these to mount horizontal boards on my trailer as a platform for launching/hauling my sailboat. For that purpose they are fine. For any heavy duty connections you will need to purchase more robust u-bolts. One star was removed since the stamped plate was a little flimsy and when tightening the nuts, the plate bent. A more robust plate and the bolts are 5-star for light duty connections.
