I liked the price on these Y valves. I did have a bit of trouble getting them not to leak. They seem to want to drip under the hose gasket on the ring side (the part that connects to a faucet). My fix was to remove and replace the included gasket with two (2) good quality gaskets. The other issue was some of them were very hard to turn at first. I broke one handle off due to it being so tight. So long as you don't plan to use the levers to turn on/off the water very often, you can overlook the difficulty in turning them. For the price, these issues are acceptable to me.

These work great~~~~~~, have had others that don't seal and just don't last. We use them all around the yard and garden. THE BEST USE: We use one of these for our bathroom sink with a separately purchased threaded *faucet to hose adapter* that you can buy on here reasonably. We bathe our dog outside in spring ,summer & fall, hook the hose to the sink with hot and cold mix to just the right temperature, our dog responds very well to that instead of ice cold shower .. would you like an ice cold 30 minute shower ?.. I wouldn't.. Run the hose outside = Happy cooperative dog.Well back to point>> These handle all temperatures and do NOT leak past when shut off. Great cheepie shutoffs here. Well worth it.

Ordered the six pack of yellow splitters. Since other reviewers mentioned getting defective ones in their order, I decided to test them right after I received them. Sure enough, two of the six leaked. Pretty poor quality control. I am returning them. Not worth the hassle if I can’t depend on them.

I got so tired of hose fittings fusing together over time and especially over winter. Even brass fittings and couplings fuse together over time and winter. I've tried using a propane torch to heat things, along with wrenches and WD40 to no avail. I've ended up having to use a hacksaw which damages te threads on the hose bib. Then I discovered PLASTIC fixtures. Sooo much better. They tighten easily and don't leak. They don't ever fuse and they loosen when you want them too. They may crack in the winter, like any other product, but at least you can get them off so you can use the hose or spicket again. You wouldn't think plastic is better....but it is.

Keeping it realistic, these are cheap and plastic. That said, I would really consider the use of these in a situation where they are being heavily toggled from on to off positions. They will wear over time faster than a metal equivalent and will likely be trash when it does fail. Now with that said, for the money these things are great.I always wrap on a good amount of plumber's tape onto the threads of any water connection, so I have not noticed any leaks.I actually popped on between 2 hoses so I can be lazy and not walk all the way around the house to cut the water on and off for swapping hose ends.I used one in concert with a bulkhead to create and control the outlet flow on a DIY drip bucket.I plane to keep a handful of these on-hand at all times, they are super useful. They are quality enough for most things I can think of, I have yet to find a reason I could not use one of these as a respectable solution.I would go metal if a failure would mean anything catastrophic, however, for anything else I would not hesitate to grab one of these as a solution.I will be buying more! Probably more than necessary, lbvs. They are good to have around when you are dealing with a bunch of hoses and hose connections such as I do. Building a DIY irrigation system to save water and apply water more efficiently.Recommended!
