It's too cold to tell yet, but this shows promise as being a good deal. We've always had brass "Y" fittings that were made well, and modern copies literally blew apart. This is a totally different design, and hopefully will last like the old ones did!

We live in a northern climate. Every spring, when it’s time to get out the hoses to start cleaning things up from the long winter and give some water to the lawn, trees and flowers, I have to head to the big box store to get a couple more of the plastic hose splitters that did not survive the sun and temperature changes they encounter in one season. This should put and end to that cycle. This splitter is a heavy brass casting that attaches to the outdoor faucet and splits the flow into two hose connections. Those two connections are more widely spaced than the usual plastic “disposable” type I’ve been sending to recycling each spring. The other plus is the levers to turn the ball valves on and off are longer, making it easier to turn control the water flow. When the snow, ice and frost leaves this spring I’ll being installing this unit and will update the review if any issues are encountered after giving it a good workout.
