Summary: Using some pipe clamps to join poles together for a ground mound, solar rack. Ordered these M8 couplers to add some brackets to the ends of the threaded rods (for the clamps).Observations: This company offers over 500 products, but this is the only hardware offering, so non-specialty manufacturer.Recommendation: Something to check upon receipt is the condition of the threads, and I run the bolt all the way in to ensure the item is manufactured well. Couplers are made with a round exterior or a hex exterior; I'll generally always get the hex since you can use that for tightening, and the only time you'd want round is if you needed/wanted a lower profile. You'll also need a jam nut, or thread locking sealant (or you could butt the two threaded rods end together when tightening, essentially using the end of the other rod/bolt as the locking element. Conclusion: At $9 for 6 ($1.50/each), these are average price, rating these 3-stars (non-specialty).

I needed something a little bigger than M6 hardware for an outdoor project. Along with the regular nuts and bolts available were M8 rivet nuts and these coupling nuts. Now I'm looking for M8 threaded rod... preferably stainless. These coupling nuts look fine. Asking price was six for $8.99.I already have a metric and an SAE rivet tool. But the big steel rivets require more power. Standard rivet tools won't cut it. Need compound leverage. In that search I learned it's possible to make a rivet installation tool, using a standard nut and bolt...No idea if it's possible in this case, but I'll try that before investing in a tool I'll rarely if ever use. These long coupling nuts might be better suited for that job..
