1. If the "hole" is a little bigger than the rod, you can scrape a little from one edge, or wrap a little black tape around the rod in front of the float.
2. Due to the difference in the combination of the fishing rod and the reel and the weight of the pulley, it is recommended that you test its floatability before use.

Work perfect. Use them on my kayak poles. Tested to make sure they work. Probably a little too long. I cut one in half and will be testing it next fishing trip. Velcro holds nice and tight.

They float! Yay!Also I am clumsy enough to drop a kayak paddle into the lake, so for me these are a kind of anti-clumsy insurance policy. Some of us need a little help on the water, eh?

I tested it with my bait caster and was surprised at how well it floated. It kept the rod floating in a horizontal position on top of the water.

This saved my fishing poles from sinking in the water when they fell over from my kayak. I didn’t use them in the past and man, I should have cause these floats would have saved me a few hundred dollars if I put them on my poles. Haha.

I purchased These for my paddle board oars since my kids love to paddle board and we have had paddles sink before I could get to them. These were not big enough to go around the oar comfortably. Definitely fishing pole size. The Velcro fits around the oar handle but the noodle part does not fully surround the pole area. They helped keep the oar afloat but look scabbed together as they don’t fully surround oar pole.

I bought this to use on my float tube in case I dropped a rod. A bit bulky but it floats excellent!
