Just install this vent outlet on the side of our house. Its only been a few weeks. The housing is made of metal. The only issue is the flipper door spring. Looks a little weak and not sure how long it will last.

We are doing the renovation of a fishing bungalow we purchased which hasn't had any care for many years. Almost everything needs replacing. This dryer vent is perfect: it says it's rainproof (although I think it may need painting from time to time), it covers the old vent hole and was easy to install, and there's no worry about insects, vermin or snakes coming into the house through the dryer venting material since this Sidasu wall vent is screened. It is strong, is fit for purpose and should last a long time, compared to the flimsy ones I have seen and had in the past.

Solid, heavy guage steel, flap opens easily. A little pricey, but should last a lifetime

The Sidasu 4 Inch Steel Hooded Wall Vent with Screen is what it is described to be in the product representation. To be honest, it's pretty hard to get too excited about reviewing an exhaust outlet, and reading the product description about "rounded corners to prevent scratches and ensure safety", "The strengthening ring on the pipeline prevents deformation during installation", etc. probably wouldn't be my among primary concerns.I would suggest considering the following, however:- I see no mention of galvanizing prior to paint. Painted steel tends to rust after years of exposure. It's likely to need painting from time-to-time.- The backdraft damper is spring loaded and the spring is fairly strong. How this will react to low- pressure bath exhaust fans or low settings for hood fans in both opening and restricting air flow is worth considering. I will likely disable or remove the damper and use an inline gravity damper.- The 1/4" screen creates a compartment between the damper and screened outlet. I have some concern that this could become a nesting place for mud wasps which are prevalent on my property. Also, this wouldn't work as a dryer vent, since the screen would certainly collect lint and block airflow.- It's a bit pricey in my opinion

Just unboxed my new 6 inch wall vent. Very well packaged, double boxed in Styrofoam. Immediately sent a nice review to the seller. It's powder coated steel, not thin galvanize. This is commercial grade and well built. This vent is so nice, that if I ever move this vent comes with me. It's that nice.

Installed this for our new range hood so it could vent outside. I love the built in baffle and the mesh covering on the opening. I got to drill a big hole in my house to install it and it was a breeze to install. It looks nice on the house too.
