I bought this to decorate my desk at work. I have people coming up to me daily about how cool it is and asking me for a link to buy their own (I've probably sold about 10 by now, haha.)It really is great! It's a bit smaller than a volleyball, which makes it perfect for a desk. I was worried it would be too big, but it's just right. The light is just the right brightness that it's not distracting. However, it is bright enough to make an excellent night light, and the blueish glow is very calming.I didn't have any problems with chips or scratches. It's exactly how I would expect a new product to be. It seems sturdy enough for kids (maybe not toddlers) but definitely "mature" enough for an adult's desk or office.The text is easy to read and well-planned. You can see this when you look closely: they stretched and skewed the text as needed to fit as neatly as possible within the country's borders. This attention to detail is really great. They could have just used a standard font size and made a mess of it (I've seen plenty of globes like that) but the artists definitely took care to make it as good as possible.I'm super-happy with the purchase. I just wish I could find a similar globe for the moon that's at the same scale. I'd like to place it across the office at the correct distance because most people are shocked when they find out just how far away the moon really is.
