This is a good speaker which I bought to replace others like it. It seems that the oils in one's skin react with the wires on these speakers so that they become brittle and then break. These speakers have good fidelity and a nice bass sound. The wires are like the others, so we buy them in quantity because the price is low and they are easily disposable.

Good price, nice size, good audio. It's a little hard so I wrapped it in a sock to make it comfortable when putting it in the pillow. Can't go wrong for the price and it more comfortable than ear buds. Volume is controlled by phone

I received five working pillow speakers. See my teardown photo. Inside is an 8-ohm unpowered speaker connected to the tip and sleeve (left channel and ground) of the 1/8" stereo plug.First reaction: the wire feels soft like silicone, and seems very fragile, like it could break easily. The wire wiggles loosely where it enters the speaker, probably poor strain relief. I pried open the case and wedged the knot between the provided plastic posts. That's better.Don't plug it into the "line out" jack of your computer or audio device, because that signal is too weak for an 8-ohm speaker. I plugged it into the headphone jack of my old Sansa Clip MP3 player. That works. The speaker needs to be close to your ear, almost like a headphone, not over there on your desk where it sounds weak and screechy. The sound is tolerable sitting atop my pillow (8 holes upward) near my head. Reminds me of an old cheap pocket transistor radio. Or bury it under a thin pillow or folded towel (81 holes upward) and rest your ear on it. I hear a smidgen of mid bass, but it's still a lofi experience.I'm expecting to roll over and break the wire pretty soon.

I got these so my kids could listen to calming music on their mp3 players at bedtime, without the discomfort of headphones. They sound ok, not any worse than one would expect from tiny cheap speakers.

I'm a Hospice worker and this speaker works very well under pillows. Keeping in place was a bit of a problem so I attached a clip to the wire to hold the device in place. The room remains quiet and the patient enjoyes their music.
