Advertised as a 5.5Ah, the battery that arrived was labeled as a 5.0Ah -- so what's one really getting? All too often, the numbers are more suggestive rather than absolute anyway. Weighing in at 631 grams, this is nearly 100 grams lighter than the real XC5.0. Fresh off the charger and placed on an electronic load tester set to 16.5V cutoff (3.3V per cell = 5%). The results were 3,977 mAh, which divides out to 4,186 mAh of capacity.However, there is one place where the numbers are not exaggerated, and that is its price. At the time of this review, this is less than a fourth of the price of an original XC4.0. Having a LED light on the battery itself is a nice little bonus too. To turn it on or off, hold down on the battery level button. It’s not bright, but it’s still helpful in a pinch. Barring any reliability issues, 5 stars. It’s not honest with capacity, but treat this as a XC4.0 and it’s still an honest value.

The M18 is the power tool platform I use in my small buisness and this battery was ordered for use on those tools. The battery was delivered with 90 percent charge by my multimeter and I immediatly brought it to full charge with my multi meter. I then put the battery on a light for one hour and then a heavy duty sazall for the remaining discharge cycle. The battery performed well at both the low and high level loads and especially the high torque load of the 7 1/4 inch power saw.I have recharged the battery and am really pleased and feel this battery is a fantastic value for the money.
