This little starter cranks out some serious power! Bolted right up to my IV big block chevy. I had to use all the shims to get the clearance I needed but the again this is the first starter I ever check too! I hope it last as long as the other reviews claim, I was going through a starter almost every year in my drag car burning brushes up in all them and not want to start when hot. Bolted it up turned it over and the car fired up instantly! Very little cranking!

These starters are much more costly than others on the market but the cost is well worth the performance. I bought one of these starters 7 years ago and had it on 5 different engines that were daily driven for that entire duration. The engines ranged from a low compression 1978 305 to a 11.25:1 327 and a 10.5:1 383. The starter performed flawlessly even when battery voltage was very low. The adjustable mount layout made it ideal for 3 very different exhaust/flywheel configurations. It even saved me on a 1860 mile road trip when my 5 speed Camaro blew a clutch line at 1 AM in the projects of Memphis TN. I was able to start the car IN 2ND GEAR to get back to the highway. This starter had enough torque to move the whole car forward and start the engine (a 454 big block). I had to do this 5 times to get out of the city and ultimately home. It lasted for two more years after that and what finally killed it? I drove through a small lake i didn't see in an intersection during a very intense monsoon that almost stalled the big block. Submerging almost the entire car knocked all the grease out of the starter bearings and killed them. I called CVR and they offered to rebuild the starter if I just paid for shipping. I did so and bought another one. The bottom line is a cheap 100 dollar chinese mini starter will never be as durable and strong as this American made piece of excellence. Buy one starter for your hot rod and never EVER worry about it again.

This is by far the best starter i have ever owned i have it on my 383 stoker and it turned a 9:1 compression engine like it was nothing. Best mini starter ever.

THIS IS THE SECOND STARTER OF THIS BRAND AND TYPE I HAVE BOUGHT. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH MY FIRST ONE, SO FOR THIS BUILD, I WOULDN'T GO ANY OTHER WAY.
