Solenoid worked great at first, but only after 5 starts it stuck on, just like other reviewers said.

on an early '70s cub lo boy 154 tractor. the smaller solenoid that mounts way up under the dash kept failing so i got this heavy duty one and mounted it to the bulkhead at the back of the engine where it can be replaced much more easily. only had it for a few days but can report it works well

This is a bargain-priced Ford style solenoid. I used it on a Chevy engined hot rod project because my headers ran close to the starter and would heat the built-in solenoid to the point that the car would have to cool off for a considerable period on a warm day before it would restart. Bypassing the Chevy solenoid in favor of this one on the firewall, far away from the heat, did the trick. Plan to buy another one for my vintage Willys Jeep project. If you are concerned about quality and have plenty of money then by all means purchase the genuine Ford part at your local dealership. I have had no trouble with this one after several months of use.

Immediately froze closed. Had to disconnect the battery to keep the starter from burning up. Threw it away. I've had 3 do this in the past. Spend a bit more and get a better brand. I put the old one back on (from 5 years ago) and working fine. Do not recommend, obviously.

I have an internation scout and it has always had a tough time starting. Even after a new battery and new starter solenoid it was hit or miss if the thing would crank over. I used this for a remote starter mod and the difference is incredible. Now it will start up very quickly...in fact it starts up a little easier than my daily driver nissan. At $15 this was the cheapest improvement I've made to my 4x4.
