This was a great purchase! I bought it to use during a girls trip. We were able to fit 6 carry on sized suitcases, some beach bags, etc inside the water proof bag.. with room to spare! I was able to put the basket up or down by myself. Everything we needed was included, but we used our own bungee straps. It was PERFECT for our trip. I highly recommend!

We drive a smallish SUV (Jeep Renegade) and when we go camping for a week (tenters), we didn't have enough room inside our even with a roof top pod to bring our floating devices or all the firewood hubby likes to bring. This rack made all the difference on our summer vacation! We brought all the equipment and play toys we needed and wanted. It was easy to put together and install and seems very sturdy. We had a paddleboard, kayak, cooler and firewood on the rack and it rode great!

Used folding hitch cargo carrier, h005, and worked great going to beach. However, when I got home, I observed that the pull pin mechanism broke. The spring was missing and the cotter pin was missing. Need someone from Kairay to contact me so I can obtain a new one or carrier won't stay together. Can't find any customer service info on Kairay and Amazon couldn't help me.

I purchased this cargo carrier specifically for our vacation. It more than worked perfectly! Sturdy and easy to install. Waterproof bag protected our luggage. Unfortunately, we were rear-ended by a semi truck while driving to our destination. The cargo carrier took the brunt of the impact and was destroyed. If we did not have this on the car, the 2 family members in the rear seat would have been either severely injured or worse. We all walked away from the accident. I thank God for that but also must give credit to the manufacturer of this product. I would HIGHLY recommend this product!

I like this thing more than I expected.It's about as sturdy as you'd want it to be, because any more and it would be too heavy to move around and install/remove, any less and it would be too light duty. The instructions were worthless, but it was easy to assemble. There is some spring/bolt thingy that I have NO idea how it could possibly have a function, but it seemed to be an extra anyway, because everything else necessary to put it together and install was there. It doesn't come with a hitch pin, though, just a bolt that you have to use tools to tighten. So if you want it to be a bit easier to install, buy a separate hitch pin. To make it less wobbly, it has this bent plate that tightens against the bottom of your receiver tube, and that DOES require an 18mm wrench to tighten/loosen every time you install/remove this cargo carrier, so just know that if you want to remove it when you get to your location, take an 18mm wrench with you. You could probably drive without the tension plate installed, but it will definitely wiggle around more.I love that the gate sides fold up so it's as flat as possible when storing.The bag is quite large. It fills the entire thing, plus sticks out the top about a foot. I easily put 6 large sleeping bags, 4 thick "Therma-Rest" style sleeping pads, two cots, 3 adult pairs of boots, and a small backpack, and I had still had some room at the top where I could have put more small items.With our 2015 Toyota Highlander, you can still open the rear lift hatch with the cargo carrier installed. If it's super overloaded, the door might hit the cargo you loaded unless you keep it to the backside, but with a medium load it's not a problem. However, my friend's Yukon could NOT open the rear lift hatch with the carrier installed, let alone with cargo, so it depends on your vehicle's shape, I guess.We also own a rooftop cargo carrier. This has been so much easier to install, load, and use than the rooftop carrier, and as an added bonus, it doesn't seem to affect gas mileage at all. And double bonus, the hard-shell rooftop carrier is limited to what fits with it still being able to close. This hitch carrier can be loaded as much as you can strap onto it, so if you need just a bit more room and have enough straps or rope, knock yourself out.In conclusion, yes, this thing was GREAT for the price. I love it.

Solid build quality. Installed on a SUV that's driven 60 miles on highway daily. No vibrations or noise. Add-ons like all-weather bad , harness net , ratchet straps make it a very useful accessory for daily use and long haul trips...The assembly instructions are pictorial representation only and no text making it a challenge, not a huge issue but for such a great value product this one small details will be very helpful. Folded it for a few days but since it does not increase the overall length toomuch I prefer to have the cargo carrier in open position so both carrier and car trunk can be used as needed

This thing held a lot more than I expected. It was easy to put on my SUV and rode great. Also, didn’t affect my gas mileage as much as I thought it would fully loaded. Was a little challenging to put together but great value and well made.
