My husband was helping a friend out at their ranch and they constantly have encounters with snakes there. I ordered these so my Steve Irwin style husband will relocate the snakes a little more safely than just grabbing them by hand. He doesn't want to hurt the snakes, and we appreciate this tool in that it gets the job done without any harm. It works wonderfully! It's strong, easy to use, and well made.It works great as a pick up tool, my husband can use it to reach under the fence of the Ostrich pen and grab fallen feathers with it instead of risking his arm to their unpredictable wrath.Overall, a totally useful, dependable tool to have around! 10/10

I like the length and the heft, I mainly got this to pick up trash outside but it has toothed stainless steel jaws that would come ion handy removing a rat snake or small opossum from the house or walking around outside and picking up trash in the yard. The device comes apart for storage into three distinct connected pieces. The shaft fits together easily with a detente button and a sleeve that fits over the joint. The handle has a lot of travel and wouldn't work well for a person with small hands, the mechanism works with a steel cable running inside the shaft from the handle to the jaws and seems quite sturdy.The problem I have with mine in particular is that there isn't a detente ball or button on the bottom section of my device, it is missing and as such I will have to find another way of attaching the bottom two pieces together, and that is unfortunate as otherwise the device will come in handy around the house where I live out in the country side.

These tongs are made out of extremely thin (0.013") steel tubing - essentially tinfoil. I ordered these to be able to reach items on a high shelf. If you plan to use these for their intended purpose, consider this: you're holding a heavy snake on the end of these grabbers and suddenly the tube collapses and the rattlesnake falls on your feet.

I have some mixed feeling about these tongs. On one hand, they do operate as intended and being collapsible is very useful for road trips. But the build quality and design are a little disappointing. The entire body and handle of the tongs feels quite rough, with no deburring or sanding from what I can tell. The edges of the handle can catch your skin, similar story for the actual tong portion. I would highly recommend taking a little time to sand the edges and put some tape/foam on the tong teeth.The handle design also feels weird and has a pinch point that my previous tongs did not. You can see in my photos how the wire is attached at a low point on the trigger. It felt awkward to use the tongs with my finger below this point, and it would pinch my finger if I put it above this point. The trigger geometry needs to be tweaked.Those issues aside, the rest of the build quality seems OK. The tongs are lightweight and easy to carry along on field trips. The thickness of the tube seems to be enough for any snake that would use these for.

Full size snake tongs that fold to a third the size. As a pro tip if you don't want to harm the snakes or any other animal you use this on one should put rubber or some heavy duty tape on the claw part. Tongs are made of stainless steel and are very durable. You can also use these tongs as a grabber for any non-animal thing as well giving you even more options for the tongs.

This grabber works very well. It is a good length, is easy to grab the snake and keeps hold. The claws seem like they might hurt, but I have confirmed they do not hurt the snake at all. This really makes it a cinch to catch the snakes!

We live out in the country, we are constantly getting snakes in our living area, I hate to kill them, so this makes for a better alternative, works perfectly!!!
