These seem like they're not stainless but with a powerful neodymium magnet I can tell it's probably 400 series stainless. It feels slightly less magnetic than my other lock washer that is zinc plated steel. Also the color is darker silver which is another stainless indication. Very strong spring lock, thick. Very good 1/4 split lock washer.

bought these along with non locking for building a rear cargo hitch carrier that lacked any washers. these fit the bill perfectly and i have plenty to spare. would buy again.

Overall, this is a great assortment of SAE lockwasher sizes.As for the stainless steel, some of the washers are lightly attracted to a magnet, while others are a little more strongly attracted, but not as strongly as cold-rolled steel.So some of these might not be the best quality stainless.I wish there were more than just five of the half inch size, as it's such a common size.
