I really enjoy sewing, but goodness gracious do I go through needles! I have an old Montgomery Ward (bet you haven't heard that name in a million years) sewing machine that is a workhorse if ever there has been one. I tend to sew lighter projects like cotton clothing, dog bandanas, etc., so I don't really need much more than a lightweight universal needle. These are perfect. They seem similar in quality to the ones that I usually buy and fit my machine well. I would say that they are likely to break on par with most of my needles of this size but having 100 of them means I'm not worried about running out in the middle of a project if they break or having to use a dull needle to finish something off. It feels almost like a never-ending supply. I recognize that eventually I will run out, but that day seems like a far and distant future. Like a dream. And the fact that I got all these needles for about the price of 8 at my usual store feels even more dreamy. Now remember, these are NOT heavy-duty needles. I wouldn't use something of this size on anything heavier than a standard quilting cotton or the like, just to be safe. This will not hold up to denim, most heavy canvas, etc. But if you are like me and stick to lighter fabrics, they will work fairly well for most projects. One thing that is odd about these, is that the size is not indicated on the needle itself. Most needles have a colored band, or size, stamped on the needle itself which can help you keep track of the needle size. Luckily, this is the only needle I have that does not have the size on it, so I should be able to remember what it is, but if you bought a few of a similar look, that might become challenging to keep track of. That being said, as expensive as needles are, I'm not super concerned about breaking a few of these because they were so affordable, and that makes me feel better about the possibility of losing some to breakage. I already do that with far more expensive needles, so these makes great sense to me, and I would recommend them!
