Shelf pins are one of those things I don’t need very often, but when I need them, generally I need more than a package of four or eight. As was the case, I was repurposing a cabinet with adjustable shelves and it was missing several pins. I didn’t bother measuring and ordered these. Pro tip: Shelf pins come in different sizes! In this case, these were a little larger than what I was replacing. A proper sized drill bit and a couple minutes to hit each hole, now allowed for these new pins to fit. What I replaced were cheap plastic shelf pins and these are all metal, which I like. I tend to put a little more weight on shelves and plastic can only hold just so much. The other nice thing, you get 50 in a package. At the store, they sell them in either 4 or 8 in a package. I no longer have to run to the store just for shelf pins. These do the job and are priced very well.

I had a shelf in the cabinet of my kitchen that was missing one of the shelf pegs. I didn't find out until I started putting stuff on it that it wasn't there. These pegs fit perfectly. I ended up replacing all of the pegs, not just the missing one, so they would be uniform.

I had some issues with shelves slipping out so I got these L pegs to hold them instead and they work great. For those curious, the 6mm peg is roughly 1/4".

I got these shelf pegs to support the shelves in a hutch in my wife’s in-home salon, and they’ve worked perfectly. These little l shaped shelf brackets or PEG L BRACKETS ;) are exactly what we needed. Well machined, high quality rust proof with a nice finish and smooth edges. one thing that’s great about these is you can insert them in more than one way, as a support that holds your shelf in the inside of the L, or from underneath, with the L as a sort of buttress. each way will give you a slightly different shelf height, say, for clearance of taller objects.Why use plastic when you can use metal? AAA find! The perfect little piece of finishing kitchen cabinet hardware.

The best type of shelf pegs are these. I've used the spoon type before but I had a few cases where the shelf would bow due to the weight of the books on them and then would slip off of them and collapse onto the shelf below. Part of the problem is not just the peg but also the fact that shelves are not always cut exactly to the width that they're needed and there's a small gap. With these, you can be sure that they're going to stay hold the shelf secure because of two things. First, the vertical piece closes the gap on the shelf and locks it in place on both sides. Second, the horizontal piece is longer and so it's highly unlikely it's ever going to slip off of it. In addition, there's a hole in the center so that if you wanted to, you could screw in the shelf to the bracket and lock it in place even further. These are good pegs and I like the nickel finish. The price is much better than what you can get in a local hardware store too. I'm very happy with these.

These are the 6mm shelf pins so be sure to measure the pin holes in your project or use a 6mm drill bit if drilling your own shelf pin positions. Personally, I would not bother with pins less hefty than these for kitchen, shop, or books. Keep in mind that this brand has a ring around the stud that if firmly set into position creates a tight fit and the peg will not do the little spin you get when trying to use pins of lighter weight or with smaller posts. That little ring or lip may be resistant to a complete set in materials laminated with Formica-type surfaces.I am building set-in bookcase and drilling 3 alternate positions for each shelf. Both the cases and the shelves are birch, and these hefty pins will serve nicely. I will need to order more. Also appreciated in the handy storage case which makes is easy to store extras.
