It looks well fabricated, the plastic ring on the load side, however might snap in subzero temps, other than that everything looks good. The cord comes with the receptical that has multiple knock outs and a locking ring for the hookup. The 30 foot is pretty heavy for seniors about 40 pounds. I will have it hooked up and update my review.

This combo works very well. I've owned it for 6 mos and have used it several times to connect my portable generator to my home when the grid power is out. It is always easy to connect and the connection is secure.

Nice heavy duty cable/chord. The box was well made and easily installed. I had an electrician come and hook it up so I was sure to have no problems. The set is designed for a 50 amp input so a 50 amp breaker must be installed in the breaker panel of your house. You still need a breaker interlock for safety and code compliance. I like the light on the box because you can tell whether or not it is live. I have yet to need to use it and frankly I hope I never need it but it is good to have it “just in case”.

We purchased this set to use with our whole-house portable generator. The electrician installed this inlet box, and he also provided the interlock kit and new breaker. Shortly after purchase, and after testing the set, we had to use it ‘real-world’ after hurricane Beryl came here to Houston. Everything worked great. If you have ever set up a camper at a state park, this works very similar; the house is your ‘stationary camper’ as it were, and the generator acts as your campsite electrical source. We also bought a surge protector to go with it, as many sources recommend doing. Both pieces of the set are high quality and would serve all Gulf Coast residents well.

Not to hard to install, connected inlet box to 200 amp panel with interlock kit. Used 6 awg wire. Just make sure that you get the appropriate interlock kit for your brand of panel. The 25' twist lock 50 amp cord is very heavy duty and should last for a long while. If you need a generator backup inlet box & cord this is a pretty good option for the cost. It cost me around $192 w/tax. I have used it for a week 24/7 w/no issues at all. Would recommend 👌 👍 👏
