50 1/8 Cleco Sheet Metal Fasteners + Cleco Pliers w/Carry Bag (K1S50-1/8)

Set of 50 Standard (K) 0-1/4'' Grip Plier Operated Cleco Fasteners + Cleco Pliers + Carry Bag. Ideal Cleco Kit For Automotive Body Work!

This Cleco set comes with 50 New 1/8 Cleco Fasteners Clecos + Cleco Pliers + a durable, polyester zippered Carry Bag (6'' H x 8.5'' W) .

Fabrication work is easier than ever before thanks to 1/8'' Cleco Fasteners. The extremely handy and versatile fastening tools (sometimes spelled Cleko or called Skin Pins) are an indispensable tool and save a huge amount of labor time.

Originally developed by the Cleveland Pneumatic Tool Company, 1/8'' Clecos have been a staple for the aerospace and aviation industries for decades. However, 1/8'' Cleco Fasteners can be used for a variety of applications, including automotive body work, general manufacturing, fiberglass installation, or any metal panels that need to be temporarily yet securely fastened together.

1/8'' Cleco Fasteners feature a steel body construction and spring-loaded plunger, and are a simple, inexpensive alternative to competitive fasteners. Able to apply up to 25 pounds of force per fastener, Clecos are easily operated by using the specially designed Cleco Pliers. A specially designed ''body seat'' holds the fastener in place while the plunger is depressed.

To use 1/8'' Cleco Cleco Fasteners, simply place the fastener in the pliers, and squeeze the plier handle to sink the plunger and extend the pins, otherwise known as step-cut locks. Once the desired holes have been lined up, thread the 1/8'' Cleco through the holes and release plier grip. This causes the step-cut locks to retract and expand back towards the steel body, which secures the panels together. Cleco Fasteners can be just as easily removed by following the same steps.

Before 1/8'' Clecos, workers had to fasten panels together using nuts and bolts, which often required two people – one on each side of the panel – to properly hold everything in place. Clecos are blind fasteners, in that the tool can be used even when the worker does not have access to the other side, granting far greater versatility and usability than other panel fastening fabrication methods.

This is a great product especially at the fraction of the cost of all the major brands out there. Works great and definitely would buy again if I had to. (probably won’t because build quality is great!)

The fasteners and pliers work great. They are really easy to work with while fixing my car. The only bad thing about them is the carrying bag, it broke on day one. The clamps came in a plastic bag big enough to hold all the clamps, so I am using that. It is of a higher quality, so it works well

This kit was perfect for me as it came with 50 x 1/8” Cleco fasteners, a generic tool to install and remove them all in a compact cloth zipped carry bag. These kits are also available in a variety Cleco diameters and in different sized packs.Clecos are manufactured from a variety of metals as well. They are synonymous throughout the sheet metal industry, used in collision repair or panel beating shops.Eg,When replacing sheet metal on the side of a vehicle I drill 1/8” holes into the sheet metal and into the vehicle’s panel once aligned then insert the Cleco fasteners into the holes which holds the panel flat and in place until I can Tack weld the panel in place at 10cm intervals. Then the Clecos are removed so I can continue to MIG or TIG weld small sections at the time so not to overheat and distort the panel.Cleco fasteners can be used for a wide variety of applications. These are excellent quality and will last a long time and simple to use.I give mine a clean and a very light spray of CRC before storing them away until next time.

This is a excellent sheet metal tool that could have many uses, I have used them for pulling car panels tight so I can get a good weld. You do have to drill a hole in the material for this to work so for each one you will be left with a hole size depending on what size you're using, holes are originally meant to be filled with a rivet but you can plug weld your holes closed. These can be life savers in some situations holding a panel up in place for you as a second set of strong hands, while staying out of your way and pulling the panel tight for a good weld. The quality of these are very nice as well the cleco's are great quality, the tool is nice and the carrying pouch is nice. The are completely reusable also.
