Mulucky 5 String Banjo Open Back

The banjo is a stringed instrument, and the film stretches on the frame or cavity to form a resonator. The early form of the instrument was designed by African Americans in the United States and adapted from similarly designed African instruments. Banjo is often associated with folk and country music, and is also used in some rock songs.

14

Strictly selected high-quality maple:

The maple body with beautiful wood grain is hard and not liable to warp or corrode, making the banjo durable

4

Remo Head:

Remo Fiberskyn Heads feature a warm, full-range tone with outstanding definition and enhanced mid and low-range resonance. Combining 1-ply of 10-mil film laminated to a 3-mil polyspun fiber, its sensitivity, and soft articulation make the Fiberskyn the most popular ConcConcertrt Snare, Concert Bass, Concert Tom, and traditional Field drum drumhead in the world. And highly durable for outdoor use.

15

Openback Sound:

The openback produces a more mellow, softer sound, and since the sound chamber rests against the player, some of the sounds are absorbed into his clothing and the player’s body, which lowers the banjo’s volume. Clawhammer-style on an openback banjo is preferred in traditional and mountain music genres, where the sound does not need to compete with the volume of other instruments. For those who need higher volume, a pickup can be installed on almost any banjo and used with an amplifier.

16

Stable Top:

Features 24 brackets, a maple bridge, an adjustable hinged tailpiece, and a chrome-plated armrest. Not only does the Mulucky banjo sound great, but it also looks great too!

Adjustable 3-Way Truss Rod:

7

Adjustable Banjo body:

Mulucky banjo features an adjustable truss rod design that allows every player to keep the neck straight by countering the pull of the strings and natural tendencies in the wood.

When the action is too low, loosen the nut outside of the rim and tighten the nut inside the rim. Strings will go up from the fingerboard.

If the action is too high, loosen the nut inside the rim and tighten the outside nut. Strings will go down to the fingerboard.

6

Adjustable Truss Rod:

Preset with a truss rod inside the neck, players can adjust the action with the wrench as needed.

7

Adjustable 24 Brackets:

There are 24 consolidation brackets around the drum that are adjustable to make the sound meet the design requirements. It is needed to adjust the drum for several times in order to make a sound.

How to position the bridge:

9

Step 1

Measure the distance from the nut to the 12th fret.

10

Step 2

Measure the same distance from the twelfth fret onto the Drum Head of the banjo

Make a small mark. This gives you the correct scale length and marks the correct place to position the bridge.

11

Step 3

Install the bridge at the mark. This provides you with the correct ruler length and marks the correct position for positioning the bridge.

I buy a lot of different instruments to custom-decorate and resell through Etsy. This is my go-to instrument in a quality open-back banjo at a very affordable price.

Pros:- cheap This is a beginner's banjo meant to help you get comfortable before spending more on a professional instrument.- full set of beginner's equipment Finger picks, digital tuner, head tensioner, it does include a guitar strap not meant for this banjo but can be improvised.- comfortable Has a decent arm rest and the entire banjo is nicely rounded for decent comfort.- shipped properly Bridge not installed to avoid damage, this is how professional instruments are also shipped. The box it was shipped in was quite large but I suspect that's amazon's doing and not the manufacturer.Cons:- beginner's equipment is also cheap The finger picks will have to be adjusted to fit properly and to work as intended for the instrument.- no instructions Tuning and bridge installation are easy to find, took me like 5 minutes.- soft wood The neck of the banjo is made of a softer untreated wood prone to staining, I like this as it gives it a more worn look but may be a con for some.

I read the notice that the package (not the banjo) had some damage but for the reduced price I ordered anyway. Well, the box was not a pretty sight and my wife said I should send it back: Glad that I did not listen to her this time. The box had damage but not the banjo. This is a really well made banjo with quality materials, however, it did need a setup. I have worked on guitars, dulcimers and mandolins so had an idea of what to do and the tools needed to complete the set up was with the banjo: Minus an open end wrench. Will change the strings to bring out the full potential for this well made and great looking banjoUse the bridge placement plastic aid to locate the bridge and most of what you need to do is done. I had to make small movements of the bridge to get the intonation (harmonic) set and left the pencil marks on the head for future reference.Looking at this banjo, if it did not have the word Mulucky on the head stock I would compare it to two more expensive banjos of same quality. Lesson here is, less expensive does not mean cheap.

I ordered what I thought was going to be a cheap banjo to take with me to the woods camping, that I wouldn't be too sad if it gets a little beat up. (Because hey... It's the woods. Am I right?) This is definitely not the case. When I opened the box to inspect it, I was blown away with its beautiful finish. Besides the bridge it was completely set up and adjusted. I checked the pot tensioners and placed the bridge, and she tuned right up! Great tone and action! If you do order this banjo I would however recommend getting a nice set of strings too, because almost every instrument comes with cheap strings and this was no exception. The only bummer is now I have to take care of her because for the money you probably will not find a better banjo. Well done Mulucky! Very pleasantly surprised.

Absolute beginner here, was a bit concerned about buying a cheap banjo, but I didn’t want to spend much incase I don’t continue with it. Really pleasantly surprised however. No obvious flaws. Seems to hold its tuning. Sounds really lovely, loud enough but not too loud that I’ll annoy the neighbours with repetitive practise. Looks really well made for the price. I had to fit the bridge, but there is a plastic measuring guide supplied. Haven’t even bothered looking at the accessories, after reading the other reviews. The bag is great, however. It’s also looks really lovely, which is a nice bonus.

I wasn't too sure given the price, but I took a chance. I used to play banjo and know what they are supposed to feel like. I wanted an open back and took a chance on this one. Everything is great. The neck angle is fine. The action is comfortably low. I can play all the way up the neck without buzzing. My goal was to see if I wanted to pick up the instrument again, so I didn't want to invest much. This surpassed my expectations. The neck is smooth to my hand. The fret edges are filed smooth. The tuning machines hold well. There is a plastic measuring piece that sits on the neck so you can figure out where you should set the bridge. The bridge is one of the heaviest I have seen, but it does the job and sounds good. So that is the point. They don't tell you to put the angled side facing the fingerboard, so it took me a moment to remember that. That is to keep the bridge from tipping as you tune. There is a set of extra strings that was wound up so tight and unmarked I just tossed them. It would be hard for a beginner to figure out which string goes where. So if you are a beginner, pick up an extra set or two of strings to keep around. You will likely over tighten an pop a string. It happens to us all. The gigbag is a nice fit and they include the tools you might need to adjust the tension of the neck should you need to. But I did not need to. The tuner works. Overall it is an excellent beginners banjo. Throw the picks away. They are laughably bad. But I sort of expected them to be. I did not open the strap. So no comment on that.

Is this an amazing quality banjo? Absolutely not. You get what you pay for. But it's decent enough to learn on. It's got a pretty good sound and looks nice. I wish it came with instructions on how to install the bridge, but with a little Googling, you can figure it out. However, the accessories are terrible. The strap I got looks nothing like the nice plain one in the picture. The one I got is a jarring pattern of puke green and orange. It's truly awful. And the finger picks also suck. The tuner turns on but doesn't pick up pitches properly at all.You might as well add some decent finger picks and a strap to your car with this banjo, and download a free tuner app.TLDR; Keep the banjo, put the accessories straight in the trash.

Ich suchte ein leichtes Zweitbanjo, das einfacher und sorgloser überall mitgenommen werden könnte als mein wundergeiles (aber auch sauschweres) Lieblingsgerät. Also nun dieses hier.Open back, made in China, Rücklauf-Ware.Dementsprechend waren die Erwartungen nicht die höchsten. Aber sieh da. Ein RICHTIGES Banjo! Alles dran und sogar richtig brauchbar eingestellt! Brücke aufgestellt (tolles Schablonentool!), Saiten gespannt und gestimmt, los geht's. Kein fretbuzz, kein Scheppern, sehr vertretbarer Ton, Bundreinheit stimmt.
