This product is a must if one uses external, (5gal etc.), tanks on a portable heater. My first Mr Heater lasted me two years before it needed to be repaired. My second heater has lasted and performed much longer using the hose with the filter.

We purchased this vs a name brand hose that looked identical but over double the cost. This one was actually better quality then the name brand hose we already have and my husband would definitely purchase this again as the quality is just as good and such a good price for it all!

So the fit thing after tightening down the fitting to the bottle it began hissing and leaking . I sprayed soapy water on the threads and regulator. Nothing was bubbling. But I could hear it. The regulator on the bottom where it's crimped was leaking. I sprayed that and seen bubbles . The problem ended up being back pressure from another tank that was still hooked up on a 2 way valve. After shutting off the other tank the back pressure disapated and it stopped leaking. It must be a safety feature to vent at say 10-14 psi but it doesn't show a " vent hole here" imprinted anywhere or any dots like a vent so that worried me if it even has a vent? Or was just just leaking from over pressure ? I have no way to test that. The fitting was 3/8 inch which needed an adapter no fault of the hose there, I just got the wrong size .
