they've seen lots of "single" bait go swimming by... and I think they know it's fake. But to see a gang of bait go swimming by, is too much to ignore. Caught some fish on the first couple of casts. Greg [garden grove, CA usa]

Good quality -- just as good as those selling for $15 - $30 locally.

I made up three weedless hooks and attached them to the jig. I was then able to cast the jig out and retrieve it back smoothly without the hooks ever getting snagged in the weeds and bottom muck of the lake. The blades did have a tendency to slide and lock up at the jig head so I took some Elmers glue and glued them in place. Some comments made mention of the jig being difficult to store away once the arms are opened out. I solved that problem by sliding the jig, hook, lure and all into the paper tubing of a paper towel. I found the 1/4 ounce jig head to be a bit too light to cast out to any distance. It would be nice if the manufacturer can make others with one ounce and 1.5 ounce jig heads.

I bought this because I watched several videos filmed at lake of the Ozarks where they were catching a lot of fish in the dead of winter on an umbrella rig. On Saturday morning, I was at Walmart and found two Strike King umbrella rigs for $7.00 each. I'd forgotten I'd bought these on Amazon. When I got home the Amazon package was waiting for me. I opened it up and compared them to the Strike King umbrella rig.The first thing I noted about the Amazon package was it was flat and I didn't think it could hold the umbrella rig. When opened, I found all the arms together like you see in the picture. The Strike King rig was in a tube and the arms sprung out when you took them out of the tube. Additionally, you could bend them back and return them to the tube for reasonable storage in your tackle box.The Alabama Umbrella Rig Fishing Ultralight Tripod Bass Lures Bait Kit didn't have that tube. The gauge of the wire on the Amazon rig was much lighter and the middle arm has no attached blade. With a thinner gauged wire, no storage tube and the requirement of bending the arms out was a real disincentive. Bending a wire multiple times so you can used it and store it will compromise the wire. There were a lot of reviews that like this product. Storage was a real concern and I think the Strike King rig works better for my applications. Maybe they could come up with a ring to make storage easier.Idk, I really disliked bending the arms and not have a good storage, and this has caused me to send them back.

These may not be of the same quality of more expensive Alabama rig buts they worked great for my purposes. So far I've only used these for saltwater stripers up to 20#. They come with the arms folded down so you have to shape them into position. I rigged these with 3" plastic shads and one 5" shad trailer on the middle arm. I did not use hooks on the outer arms , just 1 on the 5" shad. I don't think this rig could handle a double header of decent size fish very well because the arm wire is on the flimsy side. Overall, it's a pretty good Alabama rig if you are on a budget.
