Why Are Control Arms Important?

Control arms provide both a connection and pivot point between your vehicle’s suspension and chassis. Typically linking a steering knuckle to the body frame, control arms feature ball joints and bushings which work in tandem to retain correct wheel tracking and position. For example, a lower control arm assists in setting the longitudinal and lateral position of the wheel while the vehicle is in motion. This reduces transmitted noise, road shock and vibration while providing resistance to unwanted suspension movement.

1

Premium Ball Joint

Ball joints provide pivoting movement between the steering knuckles and control arms, provide a safe and smooth ride

1

Rubber Bushing

High-density rubber bushings improve performance and handling characteristics and reduce noise and vibration

1

High-strength Structure

High-strength steel can withstand repeated impact loads, making it more stable during operation

Work well enough, i found it wore premature and can see the balljoint is made replaceable however i can’t find any identifying numbers on the joint itself and no information regarding replacement parts to prolong the use of the arm itself

I purchased a similar kit years ago with no issues. Decided to replace it due to age and use. I brought this kit, installed most of the parts from most difficult installation to easiest. Got to the tie rod ends and the thread pattern doesn't match. Called about exchanging just the tie rod ends but was asked to remove all installed parts for the return in order to receive refund. I lost a days work and my personal labor on this project, only to have to do it all over again.

I needed a control arm on my '05 Expedition and it was almost $159 at AutoZone. I purchased this set and had it installed and my truck drives like new.
