I used these as an interface on a 16 zone burglar/fire alarm system. It provides an excellent way of visually seeing the zone status prior to hitting the panel. Plus, the input can be dry contacts and the solid state output is has a perfect impedance to set the voltage on the input of the panel to 1.5 volts(ish). This wasn't the intent of the designer, but it's absolutely perfect.

As described, a circuit diagram with the boards would be handy, but I managed to trace the circuit as I needed to modify my wiring to use this board to suit. All worked great though.

Output grounds can be broken but input grounds can’t. My application is switched on ground. Works for some but check your setup first. Should have some kind of wiring diagram
