These aftermarket batteries can be hit or miss. I had recently done a series of upgrades to a 5 year old Dell Inspiron laptop and wanted a new battery to round out the upgrades. This battery comes with everything you need to install it. One thing to note about Dell laptops if you've never taken them apart, know that the screws tend to be different lengths. To keep them sorted, I tape them next to their respective holes.This battery fit perfectly. Next, you'll want to drain it down to zero and then charge it. This re-calibrates your laptop to the new battery specs. To test the life, I pulled up a video and put it on repeat so the screen (50% bright) would stay on. Below are the results:Hour 1: 70%Hour 2: 43%Hour 3: 21%Hour 3.5: zeroThis performance is better than the 5 yo battery it replaced, but not by much. I was getting about 2.5 hours off the OEM battery. So, in the final analysis, I probably wouldn't buy this again and might consider a Dell branded replacement or one with more reviews. Thanks.

The battery fits perfectly into the laptop and was a simple swap of the original battery. Installation was simple and out of the box, the battery had a 62% state of charge so the computer was immediately able to be used. One thing to note is that the cable that connects the battery to the motherboard of the laptop is not included. Hence, you need to make sure that you remove the cable from the original battery and put it onto the new one. After charging it to 100% I did a stress test by playing a 1080p YouTube video at 25% brightness, with the keyboard backlight on, with the screen timeout/sleep mode disabled, and in the balanced power mode. The YouTube video was able to run for over 6 hours continuously without a problem and charging from 0% to 100% did not take any longer than the original battery. The biggest concern with aftermarket batteries is the longevity since previous aftermarket models have failed me after a while so I will keep this review updated if this battery does in fact fail after a few months of use, but for now it works as advertised and seems to be a good option for revitalizing your old laptop. Overall the battery itself seems to be of high enough quality to work properly, the tools included are nothing special and seem to be just enough for you to get the job done if you don't have your own, and the only thing I'm disappointed in is the fact that the battery cable is not included with the battery since I can see someone accidentally disposing of their old battery with the cable attached without knowing (Note I have included a picture of the cable that needs to be reused with this battery).
