The fiber end doesn't seat well so it takes time to figure out how to hold it into the scope for the correct focus. Once you do that and determine what dust particles are part of the magnifier and not on the end of the fiber, your eye will probably be blinded by the internal LED light. I rarely used it after purchase, but thought it was cheap enough to use in case of a real issue with a stand I couldn't replace.

This is a solidly made fiber connector microscope with good resolution at 400x (I always worry when there is a 200x and a 400x version that the 400x will have the same true resolution, but be slightly blurry but that's not the case - it's nice and sharp). The microscope doesn't come with the 3 AAA batteries so have some ready. It's very useful to have the 2.5 and 1.25mm adaptors for different fiber ferrules. The microscope is good for most fiber connectors (except MPOs which is another world). It's a nice product.

I am an installer that works with fiber. THis is an awesome tool for repairing ONTs. I get to observe if the fiber connection inside unit is clean. Helps recycle ONTs and keeps landfills unfills

Good optics, especially for the price. These are probably generic across Amazon/Inet.Pros:Good optics. Clear to see end-faces @ 400XStable ZoomGood for inspecting APC as well (slight focus back and forth needed for entire face inspection).Good value for the price - I mean $90 for a fiber inspection scope that works. No brainerCons:- Adjustment "screws" not easy to center the connector adapters. Took ~15 min for each one (LC/SC). hopefully they do not need to be calibrated/centered more than once.- Light/continuity test does not work with LC or ST - did not test SC. Rubber hole in the top with no way to secure ferrule - even tried moving ferrule around. We tested three LC/SC patch cords (ea ~.15db on a meter - so they are good patch cords) with no light appearing at scope end.- Rubber Housing slips while gripping, holding power button, and focusing. Someone mentioned having an on/off button, this might help here a little but. A struggle to perform the inspection when the rubber housing slipsI gave it a 4 instead of a 3 for the optic value for the price, which I wanted most. Adjustment needed for centering each adapter plate (both 1.25/2.5). Make sure you have the right tool.

Well-made scope in a handy carry case. Batteries aren't supplied but it takes AAA so easily available. Just be aware that it will only accept a simplex connector, if you have a cable terminated with a duplex connector you'll need to separate it (the joining piece on standard duplex LC connectors can be removed).

the extra adapter is in the pouch lid not very apparent unless you crush the bag to locate it.
