My kid plays his drums in the garage and this is the perfect size for his drum kit. It keeps the drums from shifting around, which is exactly why I got it. Don't care too much about the border colors, but it's not a big deal to us since we didn't get this for aesthetic reasons. I recommend it!

This drum mat actually exceeded my expectations. The size is sufficient for a 5-piece drum set. It seems to be sturdy enough to roll for storage and use often for travel to and from gigs. So far, I've used it on tile flooring and an outdoor wooden stage with no slipping or curling. Easy enough to wipe down with a dry rag or hand broom. While it is very light, it seems to be substantial enough not to fly away or flip with wind gusts. I am feeling pretty positive about this mat so far.

Thick enough to be reasonably durable. Non-stretchy with a nice nubby bottom so your drums shouldn't slip around. A fairly long hook-and-loop strap to facilitate rolling/storage. Lightweight enough to be easily portable and won't take up too much room in the van. Inexpensive enough that it's not the end of the world if you leave it behind.I've been playing music for a long time and can't count the number of rugs I've seen that look exactly like this one. It's perfect for a beginning drummer with a basic kit (or an old fart like me who's not really a drummer and can't be bothered to lug a full kit around). And there's red, gold, and green along the edge to hip the savvy to the fact that you occasionally enjoy jazz cabbage (have you ever known a drummer who doesn't?) Great stuff, Amazon. Thanks a lot!

I actually just wanted a mat for the breakfast nook area near my patio door and laundry room that might help dampen the sound. This is not very thick, not non-slip (dots on bottom like shelf liner, not woven), and is only minimally functional. Smooth surface on top. The look of it is nice, and I am sure will be better when the wrinkles eventually flatten out; it has been days and they still have not despite traffic. Might be useful for a child's drum kit but I don't think I would give this to anyone I know with a full kit. I think I might end up using it under my elliptical machine. You will want to secure the edges to the floor with rug adhesive for sure.

I was expecting something maybe cushiony or rubbery as you would expect from a drum mat, but this was disappointing from the moment it was opened.FIrst, the plastic smell upon opening was a toxic experience and we had to move it outside. Even after a day, it wasimpossible to keep inside, and it was the cheapest light tacky polyester.I wouldn't even want this outside.I am a vine customer, where I get the product in exchange for an honest review (which I am giving), but that also means I cannot return it, which I would definitely do if I had paid for this. I will be throwing this away. So disappointing.

My son is young so he has a junior drum but has adult size cymbals, his set fits on this rug all the way. It does as it says and holds the drum in its place. It’s nice and thick and has the gripping layer on the bottom. For his size drum set, this rug is great.

Updated review: slightly lowered stars only because the black material attracts pet hair and dust / dirt so easily. Added a photo. You’ll need to vacuum this often which is probably unlikely if you’re using it under a drum kit. Maybe not an issue however if you use this is in a so as with no pets.I got this for putting together my exercise room to cover my tiles. I know it's meant for a drum set, which it would be great for, but I think it's also great for general floor coverage! Packaging was minimal and it didn't have a strong odor or need to air out. You might need to let it lay flat for a while for the creases to come out but that's not a big deal especially if you're using it for its intended purpose.

I'm a drummer who plays in the neighborhood of forty gigs a year, and I expect the gear I buy to work. Spoiler alert: Economical gear with funny-sounding descriptions on Amazon is a mixed bag.I obtained a similar drum rug previously here on Amazon and I gave it one star because the top surface was basically a felt that offered no grip for pedals or stands, was thin, and had a "non-skid" underside that did not prevent skidding. This rug looks like it came from the same source, and I regret getting it, because I probably won't use it for gigs either. The positives: This rug actually has some texture to the top surface, so it provides slightly more traction. It's still not a woven rug, though, so there's nothing for Velcro on the underside of my bass drum or hi-hat pedals to cling to. It's just thick enough that it should protect pedal and bass drum leg spurs from poking through. And the non-skid pattern on the bottom of this rug works okay. It still will slide a bit, but unlike the other rug I tried, it's not worthless. This rug also has a Velcro strip at one side that allows you to roll it up and secure it, which if I ever planned on taking it to gigs would be useful. As I stated, this is not an actual woven carpet material, so if you are looking for a drum rug like that, look elsewhere. And the rug is overall very light and floppy, so it would be pushed around at the edges by any winds on an outdoor gig.If you're a hobbyist whose drums never leave the house, or getting a rug for your child who's getting into drums, it's not a worthless option. But I would not recommend it for any other kind of drummer.
