Handy to have, and easy to use. If your IC is hard to extract, you might end up bending or breaking some pins, so be patient and gentle. I would not recommend these for a professional test bench - get one that is more suited to higher volume work. For me, a DIYer, this kit was great for the price.

These tools appear to be all that's needed to extract common ICs you might encounter. They're reasonably well made, don't look like they'd break in normal use. The addition of the small screwdriver is a nice touch for someone just starting a tool collection.

Pulling ICC chips out of a socket the tool works beautifully and also having items that you can pick up parts with is wonderful

Not a good set. I have a chip that would require the black handle removal tool. However, the force necessary to squeeze the black handles together to remove the chip is enormous. If you slip slightly, you will surely damage something. The green handle tool has teeth that are way too wide to fit the chip. So its useless also. Probably will return and try to get something better.

These are cheaply made and not for professional work or more than some casual hobby work. The extractor worked about 5 times before the cheap metal stopped grabbing the IC and caused a damaged chip. Don't buy these if you value the components they are supposed to help you remove.
