Great item! You shrink the top cap with a hairdryer to create a perfectly sealed bottle, looks like it came straight from the wine store.

The product is excellent. Super easy to use. Couple swings of the little hammer the cork goes in and then blow dry the seal on. I used it to sneak hard alcohol onto a cruise ship.

I had a half a case of 30-year-old vintage ports whose corks were disintegrating. I couldn't find a service to do this, so I ordered this kit. It worked fine, and everything got recorked, but I needed to learn some things.1. I had to buy one of those injector-type cork removers, because corks were breaking off. It worked fabulously. If you have disintegrating corks, don't use either a corkscrew or cork puller, get an injector-type cork remover.2. As a homebrewer I have CO2 tanks, so I used that to blast CO2 into the bottles before recorking.3. It's a lot harder to hammer in corks than you think. One thing I learned is that you need leverage for hammering. My workbench is relatively high, and the first few corks took 5-10 minutes of hammering to set. I stood on a small platform for the last few, and it only took 1-2 minutes of hammering.4. Be careful when you get close to having the cork all the way in. It's tricky -- you need to get the cork in as far as possible, but I broke one bottle when I hammered one too many times. If you end up with 1-2 mm of cork still exposed, consider using a knife to cut off the extra cork rather than breaking the bottle.All in all, I saved some expensive port (except for the bottle that broke; I salvaged about 2/3 of the bottle, and drank it). But be forewarned. A lever-style cork inserter might be easier, but I haven't tried it.

The product is easy to use and clean. I considered buying this set up years ago but bought a different kind. I wish I had bought this one first. It’s so much easier to use takes less room to store and seats the corks much better.

Ordered this for a cruise to conceal liquor in wine bottles and it worked wonderfully! The only struggle I had was getting the cork fully into the bottle, although it's probably just because I didn't have enough strength. Still a great product though!
