This Sidco v groove roller has double bearings that are sealed for zero maintenance. The v groove wheel is chrome plated to hold up to abrasion and the elements. The box that holds the wheel is fully welded and it is bare steel so it is ready for welding to your gate. The box is ready for paint the way it comes.

This is a beautiful wheel - the bearings feel great and what looks like a chrome finish (probably done with an electropolish process) is beautiful. These are pretty much indestructible - they're a solid piece of steel with a couple of standard bearings held in with an E clip (c clip). Yeah, sure the bearings can go bad - they eventually do in everything - but these are easy to replace.I know they market these as gate wheels - but I've never used them as such. I have used a lot of them though. Back in another life time I set up Big metal plating shop. I built 6 and 8 foot steel carts (4' wide, 6' high) to be used to trolley stuff from tank to tank on the anodizing line. I used this style wheel on the 4 carts that rode on angle iron track that I also fabricated. I got the job because I have friends who are partial owners - 15 years later they're still going. Occasionally I'll stop in and obnoxiously remind them how awesome my work is. Those wheels are still on the carts in a sulfuric (and other chemical) laden environment. Those wheels were most likely made by another company - but they're the exact same as these. The only thing that could be different are the bearings and these look good to me.The wheel I ordered got mounted on a tree I fabricated out of strut that hovers over 1 of my mills. I put it there to illustrate some strut clamps I reviewed (see photo) - but I plan on using it on a harbor freight metal bender to bend round tube without crushing it. I just haven't had the time to fabricate the pin i want for it. When I mounted it on the strut though i had a flood of ideas how these wheels could be used. I'll share one - but I need some shut eye - so the rest are for your imagination.1 idea: 4 in 1 purchase hoist in a shop - 2 wheels on a ceiling joist on a trolley that could brake (or stationary) and two wheels mounted to a column or wall. Course, there are easier hoist systems to install – just depends on the application it's needed for.These Sidco Supply 4 Inch V-Groove Wheels are well made versatile hardware ----- 5 Stars!

I picked this up for a sliding gate project I have coming up. It's much heavier duty than I was expecting. The machining looks flawless with a sealed bearing. It looks like it's machined out of a solid block which is common with this type of wheel. Really nice quality product that rolls smoothly even with a 26' gate on it. It has snap rings to hold the bearing in place so in the future I'll be able to disassemble and re-grease. Out of the box it rolls smoothly.
