the product works as intended. adding to my front door was a little tough, but that was b/c of my door and its hinges. it did shift my door to close the gap, but it did create a gap on the hinge side, so i didnt solve my issue (close an air gap). i ended up returning as i went ahead and applied some rubber to close the gap.

These are great. We have a great house but the people who hung the doors were not so good. It is like they had no tape measure or level. These shims did the job and fixed our doors. Thanks

I had to look at U Tube to figure out how to make a door latch line up. I discovered this method (door shims) and after examining my entrance doors I ordered this product. Easy to install and now my two entry doors latch and shut as they should. Good product and reasonably priced. Delivery from Amazon was prompt as well. Definitely recommend.

Before ordering, I measured my hinges at four inches. I really didn't pay attention to the number of screw holes my hinges have because the descriptions states these shims are for 4" hinges. Looking more closely at the item photo, you'll see these are for hinges with four screw holes. Once I received these and began to install, I discovered that the hinges I needed to shim were three-hole 4" hinges. The shims themselves seem solid, but since the hole slots are cut into them, they are useless for three-hole 4" hinges.

The 4" EZ HS400BP Hinge Shims have been a game-changer in addressing the alignment issues with my door. This 15-pack of high-impact plastic shims is a must-have for anyone facing similar challenges with door installation or maintenance.First off, the ease of installation is remarkable. Unlike traditional methods that might require removing the entire door, these shims allowed me to adjust and align each hinge individually, saving time and effort. The fact that you can achieve a 1/16" adjustment with each shim provides a level of precision that makes a significant difference in how the door fits and operates. One of the major problems I faced was the door not sealing properly and failing to latch correctly. These shims worked perfectly to resolve both issues, ensuring a tight seal and proper latching every time the door is closed. The functionality and effectiveness of these shims in correcting such common but frustrating problems cannot be overstated.Aesthetically, the shims are discreet and practically invisible once installed. There's no noticeable bulge or mismatch that often comes with makeshift solutions. This subtlety is a huge plus, as it maintains the door’s original look without any obvious signs of adjustment. In summary, the EZ HS400BP Hinge Shims are a brilliant solution that I found to be both effective and user-friendly. They provided the precise alignment needed to fix the door's issues, with the added benefit of not being an eyesore. For anyone struggling with door alignment, latching problems, or needing to improve the seal on their door, these shims are definitely worth trying.

The installation of my doors was not horrible, but there was a noticeably wide gap in the center. I felt like I could feel a slight draft so I wanted to close the gap a bit. For $6, these were incredibly simple to install, and I needed only to LOOSEN all the screws on the door to slip the shims behind the hinges (make sure to push them all the way in). Then retighten the screws. My doors shut perfectly now and there is no hint of a draft. They are the perfect thickness to choose 1 or more behind hinges to get the results you need, are super simple to install, and the cost was not much at all. Be sure to measure the size of your hinges and order the color that's going to be least visible, but this was a great purchase. I should have done it a year ago.

I replaced the hinges on one of our doors (wife wanted bronze instead of brushed nickle hardware), but found that after I replaced the old hinges the door was about a 1/4" gap on the latch side, and no gap on the hinge side. This left a bit of an air gap and also made the door not close well. These shims were a great solution, since they are 1/16" thick I installed two of them under each hinge attached to the frame to shift the door to the latch side 1/8". Now there is an even 1/8" gap on both sides as shown in the image (I meant to take a before image too, but it slipped my mind, sorry!).Another option is to use cardboard, but it's difficult to measure how much a cardboard shim will actually shift the door. And they may not hold up as well over time. These are much better, and they are the perfect shape which makes them easy to install: Just loosen up the hinge hardware, and slide the shim in (if necessary poke it to the required depth using something really thin like a razor or another shim). Then re-tighten the hardware and you're all set!I recommend making sure you have long enough screws in whatever place you install these shims. A lot of hinges come with short screws, but you really want to have ~3" screws going into your door frame so that they are able to grab the actual frame of the door and not just the trim (and make sure to pre-drill too, so you don't split the wood). This will make the door much more sturdy and harder to kick-in as well.
