This lens was a huge improvement over my 2x Barlow lens. This image is of Saturn through this lens. Much better than my 2x with more detail. Also got great detail on the moon but I couldn't focus my phone that well.

I've been wanting to get a telescope for a while and finally went for it. I don't know a thing about setting it up (that's my guy's job) but he said this would help maximize the telescope's range/clarity. Whoa it's so amazing! He "stacked" the lenses and focused it and the first time I looked at the moon through our new telescope I was blown away by the detail and clear image, I didn't think it was going to be that sharp and close-up. Now we're hooked and are planning a brick paved platform for it with chairs. Wait until my grandkids see this!!!

A good quality Barlow is a very useful adjunct to a telescope, and this is a good quality product at a fairly low price. The metal housing is thick and very solid feeling, and the optical element is indeed a multi-element achromat as advertised- note the photo showing multiple internal reflections. Optical performance is good, with no visible added chromatic error, and no added field distortion. This Barlow has a standard 42mm T-thread, and can also be used as a camera adapter. The combination of the rigid camera coupling and high magnification should make this useful for lunar and planetary photography, and that’s what I plan on using it for.

Got a used telescope over the holidays that was missing an eyepiece. Found this and figured to give it a try, since it was already setup with a threaded flange for future astrophotography hobby investigation.Comes in a sturdy cardboard box, with both ends covered. The eyepiece end has a set screw that has to be dialed out to remove the cover, while the tube end is merely friction fit.Optics look clear, and the machining on the threads is sharp. The tube itself has no nicks and feels solid, but not overly heavy in the hand .In all, a good option for a replacement on hobbiest level scopes - I don't suspect anyone really serious would be using this "barlow, humph" I can hear them say, but for us folks who just want an occasional night sky wander it fits the bill.

I was not familiar with the Pocnsen brand but decided to give this entry-level Barlow a try. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it compared quite favorably with my preferred economy brand, Neewer. The comparative view with my Neewer 2X Barlow was only marginally better, with the Pocnsen demonstrating slightly more optical astigmatism (star shaped lens flare). The barrel machining is excellent, and looks almost identical externally to the Neewer — I think both come from the same factory. The biggest difference between the two was that the Neewer uses a brass barrel band to safely secure your eyepiece in place without scratching the barrel, while the Pocnsen uses only the standard small thumbscrew. For that reason I have to recommend the Neewer here, but I was favorably impressed by the optical quality of the Pocnsen Barlow and will keep a close eye on this brand in the future.

Admittedly, I’m very much a novice when it comes to telescopes, so I don’t think I can really discern whether or not an eyepiece or accessory is of good quality. At best, I could directly compare it to another one made by someone else and determine which one seemed to be better. I don’t have the option of doing that here. All I can say is that I’ve held some cheap, junky pieces before, and this certainly feels better in the hand and looks better. This feels like solid construction, and the lens was clear and did what I wanted it to do.

Maybe the cheap feel is actually a plus. It's very lightweight, so it doesn't throw off your balance on an EQ style mount too much. I stacked this with a 2x barlow i already had and it allowed me on a good night to see Jupiter's cloud bands! Very cool. Cheap enough to add it to your kit to make your widefield eyepieces good in a pinch for planetary viewing.
