This lantern set is really cute the way it comes, but absolutely spectacular after a few easy adjustments! The lanterns are made of lightweight plastic and have mirrored panels. They take three AAA batteries and when lit, they flicker a bit as if they have real candles inside them. They make for very lovely home decor. I decided they would look nicer in my home in a different color and initially couldn't decide between black or gold. I went with the matte gold and I love it! The lanterns are easy to take apart (I didn't want to spray paint the mirrored panels). There are 3 little screws that allow you to remove the bottom (and light fixture portion) and from there you can access the mirrored panels, which slip right out. I then spray painted the lantern and let it dry before putting all the parts together again. It was a quick and easy process and I think they turned out great. In my opinion, these are a great value for the price and a dazzling addition to any home!

These are nicely made lanterns, small and look nice but each one requires 3 AAA batteries which was surprising and disappointing. For the size I would’ve expected not as many so therefore not a value for your money at all. Batteries are not included as well.
