The Speedglas 9000 standard outside protection plate is designed to protect the filter from spark and spatter. Failure to use an outside protection plate with the filter voids the warranty if spark or spatter contaminates the glass. These are the only ones I will stick too. I tried some other cheaper ones but you will get what you pay. These are better built and I like them better the. All other clear shields for my 9002X welding hood. Don’t scream as easy as the cheaper ones. These have a curve mold to it to fit the hood. The others are straight so you have fold them to place. That gives your view a warp view. I don’t like that. These are perfect view.

I have an older speedglas helmet that I got from a pro welder years ago. It was very spattered and scratched and I was out of these. These fit well and I can see what I’m welding again.

i thought i ordered one lens but i received a box of 10, i thought it was a little expensive for one but i bought it anyways, when i went back and read the add it does say a case but i dont think it says that you get 10anyway it fits my older speed glass helmet even though it does not have a model number on it. i took a chance as mine looked similar to the picture and it fit perfect
