Non-vacuum 3M Random Orbital Sanders are air powered sanders designed to deliver professional performance and a swirl-free finish in high-production industrial environments where dust extraction is not required. This palm sander is loaded with features to reduce vibration and noise and increase ergonomics and operator comfort. These features include a comfortable rubber grip and a recessed lever platform that eliminates pinching and pressure points on the operator’s palm. An innovative internal muffler helps reduce noise and won’t break off during use. A Stikit disc pad is included with this 5 inch random orbital sander, allowing the operator to quickly and easily apply adhesive-backed discs to the sanding tool. 3M pneumatic orbital sanders are designed to optimize the performance of 3M abrasives, with speed control and a low-profile, balanced design. 3/16” diameter orbit provides a moderate cut-rate and a fine finish on metal, composites, wood and more. Operates at 90 psi with an air flow rate of 17 SCFM. It requires an air compressor that will provide a clean lubricated air supply with an airflow rate of 17 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM), or 481 liters per minute (LPM), and 90 pounds per square inch (psi) at the tool, i.e. the point where the air hose is connected to the tool, when the tool is running with the level fully depressed. Recommended is an approved 3/8 inch (10 mm) airline at the minimum length required for the application, with a maximum length of 25 feet (8 m). It's worth the money and is quieter than normal. I was a little skeptical about spending $225+ on a sander but it's quit and strong as a bull. Doesn't wipe clean which kills me as I like clean tools

This sander hits the nail square! Good sanding powder, lightweight, and low dusting compared to other non vac air sanders make this the best sander I’ve used in 30+ years of using them. Keep the air dry and add a drop or two of oil each day and I’m sure this will last many hard years of use. Recommended

Worked in a shop for a few years and used this sander almost daily. When I started work at a new shop they had off brand low end sanders. After 2 days of sanding with their equipment my wrist hurt from the vibration, a problem i never had before, so I did myself the favor of buying one of these myself. Couldn't be happier.

Bought this in March this year-2 things.1.) I've only oiled it 11 times since purchase and2.) I used it intermittently through out every day [specifically for waxing and polishing cars, rather than sanding] since purchaseholds up amazingly. I only sand for specific clients, and it obviously does that really, really well. But my main use is polish, glaze, and wax/seal. I've turned black porsches into glass porsches with this piece, I finished my sanding on my car in prepp for ceramic coatings and good lord it looks amazing now.highly recommended as a starter piece!

I've had this sander for about a month now and it shows no sign of slowing down. I sand metal for polishing and its filthy work. The dust covers everything and really sticks. It doesn't seem to affect the sander at all, just some daily lubricating and away we go. This sander is powerful enough for the job and doesn't hurt my hands after daily use.
