I prefer not to use these over any other wire nut for the past 20+ years as an electrician

Work as advertised. I usually purchase these At my local Wholesale House but these were cheaper and delivered the next day.

Cheap wire nuts; start fires, causes nuisance tripping with AFCI breakers, and the inner spring decides to come unglued. These are not cheap, and the difference is worth the price. Life is precious and so is my electrical connections. Burn on Watts

Electrician here - been using these nuts for 15+ years. I'm particular about neat splices, and these nuts ensure the splice stays tight while being easy to remove if necessary. Let's face it, the red Buchanan nuts (or similar) can make a splice once, but don't try reusing them. Half the time the spring gets damaged upon removing and you're forced to take your pliers to remove it before working on the splice or replacing the nut. These tan reds from 3m can be reused. Also the range (approved wire quantities and gauges) of these are great. The small rubber "skirt" at the bottom of the nuts is good for helpers that make their splices too long. I keep these tan reds, orange blues, and blue grey nuts stocked on my truck.

I’m sure these are not the cheapest wire nuts but they are good for just about anything. They to some extent illuminate the need to have multiple size wire nuts. The wings on them make it easy to twist really tight on larger gauges of wire. I am a fan

I was turned on to these 3M wire nuts by a professional electrician I had hired for a job. They are by far the best wire nuts I have ever used. They can handle a huge range of wire sizes and number of conductors. My understanding is that the spiral inside of them has space to expand out which is partly what allows them to handle such a range of sizes. This evening I was showing them to a friend and I decided to demonstrate how they were built to him by cutting one apart. This resulted in me damaging my wire shears and not successfully cutting apart the wire nut! These things are built with some tough steel! So the attached picture has a 3M wire nut on the left, an Ideal wire nut in the middle and some cheap piece of junk that came with a light on the right. (both of the latter I dug out of the bottom of my tool bag from previous jobs, so I can’t say if that Ideal wire nut is a modern one or not) This has solidified in my mind which wire nuts are the best.
