Pay attention to how you unbox the shapes. Maybe take a picture and video prior to removing them. Replacing them in the box took 2 people and a lot of brain power lol.The shapes are great! They can help students physically see how various shapes combine to make 3D shapes. Each shape comes with paper to fold and place inside each 3D shape. More visuals for how shapes create 3D shapes.

I really like this set to introduce geometric shapes. It comes with several learning tools. It is all stored in a compact box to keep the set neat. Thoughtfully designed for teaching and learning.

Pros: - Reasonable price (under $20) - Good number of shapes and nets - Translucent plastic shapes are pretty niceCons: - Paper nets are a bit thin and cheap - Shapes and Nets are small. It would be much better if they were twice the size. - All Nets should have two options - just plain color and CLEAR LINES to help students identify FACES - Instead they put confusing patterns and designs on many nets! A BAD idea! - The box is too small! To re-package, shapes must be nested together and the nets barely fit. - Seriously? You can't give us an extra cm or two? Now, I'll have to find a larger box or bin to put this stuff inOverall, am I glad that I bought it for our class? Yes. But, I am glad that I have other manipulatives also.

I bought these shapes for my kids who are learning about geometry and volume. They are very useful and fun to play with. The shapes are transparent, so you can see the edges and faces clearly. They also come with colorful paper inserts that you can use to change the appearance of the shapes. The shapes are small enough to fit in a drawer or a box, and they are easy to clean. My kids love to fill them with water or sand and compare their volumes using the measuring cup that is included. They also like to stack them and make different patterns. These shapes are a great way to introduce math concepts in a hands-on way. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a creative and educational toy.

This set has a great tactile/visual demonstration of the the equality of surface area between a cylinder and rectangular prism (rectangular box). This immediately captivated my visual/tactile learner, who could see the connection between cylinder radius with one side of the box, circumference and the second side, and height of the cylinder with the third side. It's immediate and a little magical. Now the formula is more than symbols on a page.I'm going to use the other shapes for various math exercises to reinforce volume formulas, surface area and spatial awareness. The colors are another attention grabber for my learner, as well as the ability to hold the shapes and then view/touch a 2D version of the shape. I would prefer a lower price point than $20, but my student will enjoy this enough to be worth the cost. The plastic shapes are sturdy and a good usable size.
