They work just fine so far, but I’m concerned with the small boring wings on these bits. With smaller bits, they loose their ability to get through cinder blocks when those boring wings wear down. I assumed that was what was scraping and tearing the material out and away from the hole so I am a bit concerned with these being so small to begin with. Perhaps the fact it’s nearly half an inch and big and thick makes them power through anyway!I’ve been using masonry bits quite a bit over the years, and know that you can and probably will make mistakes. When drilling through a hard brick, you may need to cool the bit down. (I spray WD40 on it as needed when drilling through the red bricks.) A hammer drill makes all the difference in the world between the job being easier and the bit lasting longer. Just because you can make something work the wrong way doesn’t mean you should! (In my late teens or early twenties, I used a regular drill trying to hang a dart board in the basement and melted the bit. Learned about masonry bits that night!) These are decent bits in experienced hands.

Compatible With Any Major Cordless Power DrillINDUSTRIAL GRADE CARBIDE TIP - Incredibly Durable Carbide Tip with Self Centering 2 Flute Design for Easy DrillingWorks In Concrete, Cement, Brick, Cinderblock, Stone, Ceramic Pots, and Other MaterialsMy house is all brick, cinderblock, and the base is fieldstone. If I need to penetrate the walls in order to install a cable, wire, or pipe then I need to deal with masonry. These drills will plunk holes in that and most other masonry materials. They are also good for drilling holes to use Tapcon fasteners for mounting or attaching parts to my house outside walls. Once the Tapcons are in they stay in. But you have to make the holes first.I definitely recommend the 3/8 Inch Masonry Drills from Amazon....a

You never know what you are going to get when you order items like this from Amazon, but this is definitely one of the good ones. I just so happen to be working on some home improvement projects in our basement that require some drilling into the concrete floor, and I am happy to report that I put one of these bits to the test over the weekend. After drilling a dozen or so holes the bit was still holding up well: about as good, if not better, than most of the other masonry bits I have tried from my local big box store. I absolutely recommend them.

I hang brackets into reinforced concrete a lot. I used one of these & it works as good or better than the premium brand I was getting at the super huge hardware store. These are better at least because they cost much less. I gave one to an inexperienced new coworker - and he only got 2 holes before he destroyed the bit - I didn't see him using it but I believe it is his lack of drilling knowledge that caused this to happen. Not the bit or its quality, I will buy these again, in various diameters.

These masonry bits were perfect for drilling the holes in my patio that I needed to install a new pool fence. The carbide tips stayed sharp and the hex shank fit securely in my cordless drill with no slipping. The bit's 6-inch length provided plenty of depth for the fence anchors, while the fluted design efficiently cleared away the debris from drilling. These bits made the whole process much smoother than I expected it to be. I also liked that the bits have a self centering design that helped keep the holes straight, which is important when drilling for fence anchors. Having two bits in the pack was also good because it gave me a backup, though I ended up not needing it. I would recommend these masonry drill bits to anyone who needs to drill holes in concrete for fence anchors.

I need to drill the concrete floor in my garage to mount a manual tire changer and am about to do it now that all necessary tools and supplies have arrived. These are perfect sizes for the project, 1/2'' diameter and 2'' deep holes for 3/8'' thread drop-in anchors to secure the equipment. The bits are 6'' long with a 3 3/4'' flute (long enough for the depth of holes I need) and are designed with a 1/4'' hex shank, perfect for regular/impact drills. I don't have a rotary/hammer drill but a couple of variable speed drills and a cordless impact drill. Based on what I've learned, each of these bits should be able to endure a few drillings (I only need 4 total). It would be slower and more wear on the bits compared to using a hammer drill, but for one project, I'd rather spend $7 here and drill them out. Don't feel the need to spend more on a hammer or rotary drill. Just in case the project goes south, will update the review. For now, I am impressed by the quality and feel confident!
