We have a couple lasers that we cut out a lot of 3mm and 5mm basswood. Seems like there is always some charring, even with adjusting laser power there is always something. I have tried everything to clean wood but takes too much time and it always seeps through the paint. These sweet sanding sponges are perfect. Can be washed to renew a little. Love how the snowflakes turn out after being painted. Glad I found them!

It'll take corners off, but they're horrible on flat wood. What they do sand well are your fingers. Maybe they work better on drywall or metal, but I couldn't prep plain wood boards for finishing with these.
