I love this dog food container. It makes storing the food so much easier than a sack that cannot be resealed and is heavy to drag around. The container has wheels and the lid has a smooth hatch for opening. I have not experienced the hatch not staying open, as mentioned in other reviews. I would absolutely recommend this product and the only reason I gave 4* is because it only just holds the 31.1lb sack of food - not 35-40lb.

We have a hard plastic bin with a lid that latches in the front/top that is just getting worn and needed to be replaced. We have 2 terrier mixes and feed them the Amazon brand salmon and sweet potato flavor dry food, which I order in the 25 lb bags.Originally I purchased a similar style container from another brand that said it would hold 20 - 25 lbs of dog food. Unfortunately it did not live up to its promise, so I purchased this one instead, which was listed as holding 30 - 35 lbs of food.I poured the food from original (supposed) 20 - 25 lb bin I previously purchased into this one. It fits, but barely. The recurring theme with these containers seems to be that your container will almost certainly not handle the upper end of the size limit it’s advertised at, and, depending on the size of the kibble you use, may not make the lower end either.If you’re feeding puppy food, or food that is designed for smaller dogs (smaller pieces), then you may be able to fit food at the highest capacity listed, but if your food is is the size of (what I think of as) a standard kibble, then you’ll probably want to size up.For us that meant buying a container advertised as holding 30 - 35 lbs of food for the actual 25 lbs of food that we have.Know your options, and purchase accordingly! :)

This is very sturdy and also attractive. It holds the bag of food, as I order a large one to cover months.

This does not hold 40 lbs of dog food. I have two Rottweilers, and they eat A LOT! When I found a container that would hold 40 lbs of food, which is their monthly need, I was super excited. Imagine my disappointment when I poured the bag of food in and it overflowed, and mounded on top. At best, this container MAY hold 32 lbs of dog food. For reference, I feed my dogs Purina One + Large Breed Adult Formula. I would be better off purchasing a steel garbage can.

It's a food container. Pretty much all you could use it for as the top is very wide. It narrows as it goes all the way down

Size is good and it is sturdy and has an opening so you don’t have to take the entire lid off to get food out Also came with a nice scoop for one cup of food. An extra; two containers which can be used for supplements or meds and treats.
