smaller, VERY 'THIN"' Thinner than the picture shows. It's ALMOST THREAD-LIKE a spool of thread...NOT A ROPE. A VERY THIN STRING like sewing thread. BUT THE PICTURE with 'HAND' shows it as if it is thicker than threads. SHOULD BE CALLED 'THREAD-STRINGS. PICTURE IS A LIE. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!!!

For using in jewelry and knotting crafts, very strong, nice satin cord.

I got this for various crafts, and wanted to do some different barrel and box knots with it. I will say, it is VERY slick and silky so you will need some patience getting your knots to hold. However, once they are finished they look stunning! The satin shine looks excellent and really helps draw your eye to the knots. I opted to put a very small amount of fabric bond on my knots to help hold them together without having and burn or glue marks shown, and it worked great. I would recommend using a needle to get your fabric bond INSIDE the barrel or box knots to prevent any bond from being seen on the outside, but to still help hold everything tightly together. Overall, very pleased with this cord and there is quite a bit of it for several knotted bracelets, lanyards, and necklaces!

I ordered this nylon cord in the color black to make bracelets with. This nylon cord comes in a generous size with 330 feet of cord. It also has a slight sheen to it that makes bracelets look very nice. This roll will last me for a VERY long time and will make A LOT of bracelets!!! The cord is silky smooth, and a bracelet made with this cord is very comfortable. This cord is very strong and durable. Bracelets (and other items) made with this cord will last for a long time. It is a thicker cord (1 mm), but thin enough to fit easily in a smaller bead hole. I have to melt the end of the cord so that it does not split when I string beads with smaller holes, but I do this with all nylon cord brands. There are many options for finishing and securing bracelets (and other items), but I prefer to use a lighter to melt the cord so it molds to the end of the bracelet. This cord melts very easily and quickly, but like any other cord if you hold the flame to it for too long long it will catch fire so you have to be very careful if you use this method!!! The quality and amount of cord you get for the price is a great deal! I am very happy and satisfied with this Nylon cord and it works perfectly for my purposes. I definitely recommend this cord to others and I will be purchasing this brand of nylon cord to replenish my other colors when they run out.

Exactly what I was looking for! I wanted to make some bead animals like back in the day and I was trying to remember what kind of cord we used. This is a little thinner than I remember, but the exact same type of string. And honestly, the thinness helps if you're making anything more complicated than a lizard where you might need to pass the string back through a bead again several times. Works great with pony beads.A word of caution if you've never used this type of cord before: it's extremely slippery, so it can be difficult to get the beads to stay in place after you place them, and you have to keep a little tension on the cord to make sure it doesn't get pulled too tight or come undone. The knots are very slippery also and may come undone. However, since it's plastic, you can very carefully melt the knot together with a couple brief passes over a lighter or candle.

This was an Amazon Vine purchase. I bought this product to use either for jewelry making and/or restringing a wind chime that fell apart years ago. Very impressed by the amount of Satin nylon string you get for the price. The product states 330 ft. While I haven’t even attempted to confirm this, I will say that, looking at it, there is at least a 1/2” depth of string wrapped around the spool. Combine that with a spool with around 2.5” height of thread on it. So, there is a good amount. The string itself is thick and definitely silky and smooth to the touch. Strength I can’t determine until I get a chance to use it, but from what I see so far if you pull at the tail on the roll it seems to hold up. Pretty impressive and definitely recommended.

I make macrame wraps and cages for stone pendants, and I ordered this to make classic black ties. It's a lot slicker than the traditional waxed or textured cords that a lot of macrame art uses, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. This is slick and smooth, making it tie up quickly and adjust easily. It was a little trickier to use than the more textured options since it was more responsive to tension (because it lacks any real resistance) so it's probably better for someone at least a bit experienced in the art form. But it ties up beautifully and I haven't seen any manufacturing flaws or snags at all. It's been a good product.

Wanted a thread or string that is black for stitching heavy material about the same thickness or slightly thicker than the waxed thread sold for sewing leather and canvas with a hand awl. There are times I do not want to use waxed thread that is tan color. If I cannot load my wood-handled sewing awl with this cord, I will thread one or more of my stand-alone canvas/leather sewing needles. If the cord needs lubrication to pass through the thick material, I can always run it over a wax candle or piece of soap. I'm pretty sure I can get this to work to repair leather and canvas household items and extend the life of some dog toys.
