Much that is good here. It can be hard to find actual brass parts (not gold or antique brass) but these fit the bill. Pieces are very solid and look like they would be very sturdy in service. However, the website shows the width of the swivel eye box at 1 inch and it measures out at 10% less than that with a calibrated micrometer. (See photo.) Not so great when you need to put a 1-inch strap through it! An alternative product measures 1.085 inches and works great with my 1-inch straps.

These are the nice ones, not the cheap junk. They feel solid, have some weight. They have some heft to them and the locking part slides with no effort. I made "seat belts" for my dogs with these so all I have to do is latch them to the harness and not worry about them jumping in the front seat or falling out the window. They feel strong enough to keep them from flying through the windshield if I get in an accident too.

These Solid Brass Snap Hooks are of very high quality. They have a polished surface and the spring action is just right - not too weak and not too strong. Overall, these are an excellent value and I have no disappointments. I am very pleased with them!
