The plastic hinges wear out and break after a few years. These replaced the OEM hinges perfectly. Time will tell how the stainless steel holds up to salt water.

I love the look and function of these hinges. They will surely outlast the plastic ones that failed from heat and age. The only issue is that the screws that came with the set were not a good fit for where the original screws were removed. Don’t loose the original screws when replacing the hinges. He old ones might fit better.

Fit my big Igloo that's over 20 years old. I like that these seem to be much more durable than the available plastic replacements for the original hinges. Too bad original hinges were not available. The plastic "hinges" available as replacements are not really hinges at all. They don't bend on "pins". They are just bent plastic that won't last long, especially on a big marine cooler. I am mindful that these stainless steel hinges might pose a slight hazard to someone bumping along the back side of the cooler, but I don't see it as a big issue. Others might. Perhaps the plastic replacements have been redesigned to be safer for someone who might bump along the back side of the cooler, or they are simply more profitable to make and sell.

The first thing to break on our coolers always seems to be the hinges, because they’re plastic. These are perfect for fixing the hinges. Easy to install, with no hassles.
