This split lock washer provides a circular bearing surface with offset split ends which help bite into the mating material to provide a locking feature when tightened beneath a nut. It is round with a hole in the center and can be used where loosening from corrosion or vibration is a concern. Lock washers are commonly used in any application using a bolt where two pieces are being drawn together.

I tightened the nut down with a long handle but this 1" lock washer never flattened down to where both ends are side by side like a normal lock washer would under pressure. The pressure instead bent my equipment, which is less stiff than this super hard washer.

This washer is a good quality. I needed a single washer for a barbell. The washer should have been thinner, but this one worked, despite being way too thick. Now I have a box of them that I'll never use.

I use these to assist with my weight lifting barbells. The little screw-on twist barbell ears like to twist off upon vibration or regular usage. These help prevent that. Not perfect, but they help. The price on these seems a bit high though.
