It was surprising how lightweight it was when it arrived. It was completely assembled and ready to go once you pulled off the protective plastic off the painted surfaces for shipping. It is incredibly sturdy and functional. I consider it a very good value for the price paid. It gives you the ability to extend your reach while keeping one hand on the top rail for balance and safety. Extremely easy to store in a narrow space and being lightweight makes this a winner.I liked it so much, I bought one as a gift for a friend and she loves it.

Perfect little stepstool to keep in my kitchen. Easy to open and close, and attractive enough to leave out. Very solid.

Overall, I am quite pleased with this step ladder.I'm a 67 year old gal, about 5'5" tall and 215 lbs. My home has high ceilings and high top kitchen cabinets that I simply cannot access without a step ladder.I tell you this because:The Good: The third step gets me up to where I can comfortably reach everything, from the back of the tallest cabinet to dusting the ceiling fans and high bookshelves. The raised handle makes an excellent place to brace my knees on to remain steady while hands free. It looks good and easily folds up into an attractive, slim profile, so is kept in a place of convenience rather than hidden in the closet down the hall. The Bad: At my weight, and age, I wish that the steps were.... sturdier. They flex when I step on them and it does make me a little nervous. Though, it claims to be rated for 300 lbs, I'm taking their word on that, but still being cautious with each step, just in case.Suggestion to the manufacturer.... bolster up the steps a bit, they make folks like me a little nervous and if one should buckle, an injury could spell disaster.

This 3-step folding ladder isn't the cheapest, but it is WELL WORTH the extra money. It is light, folds easily and compactly and is very sturdy for being so light. The treads provide plenty of grip thanks to the extruded grooves and are dimensioned to accommodate a "normal" adult stance. It also looks nice with high quality fit and finish. I got the black and woodgrain (which is more orange than I would prefer, but looks real'ish enough). Lastly, there is no silly toggle lock/unlock or awkward hook like most of the cheaper folding stools have. It stays firmly open when opened and folds with extreme ease by lifting the leading edge of any tread, then a light "snap" returns it to a flat stored position. If you want a very stable, very compact ladder/stool that folds completely flat yet can be easily maneuvered with one hand- spend the extra money on THIS one.

Lightweight, sturdy, and nice looking - the black and "wood grain" fit my decor. I use it in my closet to reach high shelves and it makes putting clothes away much easier and things stay neater. I was curious about how the metal-wood-grain would look and it's totally fine and looks way more attractive than the heavy, paint-splotched one I was using or an aluminum one. It's a stepladder, not a showpiece. I looked at other wood models, which looked bulky, and were more expensive and heavier. This one is perfect - I might get another for my kitchen.

I bought this step stool because my spouse and I are height challenged and needed more steps to reach some things around the house. Not only was the ladder attractive to look at but was surprisingly sturdy for its light weight (in pounds, I'm talking about).. That was one of my spouse's criteria, "It needs to be lite weight, and this ladder didn't disappoint. In addition, it folds up very tight and as such, is easily stowed behind the door in out utility room when not in use. If there was one thing that I'd like to see addressed, would be that the handle could be a little higher when getting down from the top step, While It is very sturdy, to be honest, most time this is not a problem as I can hold onto a door or cabinet etc., but sometimes out say in the middle of the room trying to install a ceiling fan for example, there isn't much to hang onto. It's tall enough for the first two steps easy, but that next step, requires a little taller person to have to bend over to grab onto something to ascend or descend the extra steps especially for us older folk with stiffer backs. That being said, It was still a good choice for me, and I think you would also be happy with this selection. If having something to grab onto is important to you might, you want to consider a ladder with an extra step, that might solve the problem with having to bend over while on the ladder especially when getting down from the top step.

I bought this for a 108 year old home in an historic district which has original cabinetry. Kitchen ladders to reach those high cabinets used to be common - you can find modern looking step ladders easily enough, but I wanted something visually appropriate to the house. You can find truly original wooden step ladders, but they're either of dubious quality, or eye-wateringly expensive. Neither made them a good option for an investment/rental home. This one looked to fit the bill. Modern materials, good looks, fair price. It's got some weight to it, but not too heavy to move. It's sturdy, held up to my 205lbs with no problem - and I jumped around a bit to test it.The design gives you a rail to hold or lean against. Plenty tall enough for anyone over 5' to reach items on a ceiling height shelf (this home has 9' ceilings). I'm 5'-10" for scale. The footprint is nice and wide. No flimsy feeling, quite solid.Plus, it folds intuitively and folds nice and flat. Slides between an appliance and a wall. Needs about 2.5" space. And it's reasonably priced.I'm pretty delighted at this, so much so that I'll probably buy another one for my residence.Good job!
