I wouldn't use this for painting. The adhesion on this tape is lackluster compared to regular painter's tape from a store. This does, however, still work for using as a gaffer/spike tape. I film sketches and videos and usually have tape on the floor for actor's positions and although this tape is weak, it does still work for that (which is what I mainly use this tape for). I'm giving this 3 stars because of how weak the adhesion/stickiness is.

I tested this against 2 other masking tapes; a premium one and a generic. This tape was much more like the premium tape than the generic, tearing as easily, and not curling when torn.I tested on a very grainy 2x4 and used a lot of wet paint to really test the edges. This product fared much better than the generic and as good as the premium brand.

The color is a pale yellow. I need WHITE for my purposes. I should have stayed with a previous brand.

Not painting anything any time soon so I can't exactly survey the quality of the tape.Using this as labeling tape and just ordinary job, these works fine.No different from other painters tape.I do like these with the lighter color so I can write on them.I use these more for regular household projects than painting.Does the job

This tape works good for painting, labeling and other projects. It tears by hand easily, sticks decent and is fairly easy to remove. It's comparable to other brands except a little thinner then the premium ones. I like that it is white so I can write on it and be able to see it. It's a good tape if you are looking for a removable tape that doesn't need to be super thick. I think the price is similar to other off brands but cheaper then name brand painters tape.

I am reviewing DOAY 3 pack of masking/painters tape, which at the time of this review was $5.99. I use tape like this for labels, and my previous purchase of a known orange brand was absolutely terrible. I could never pull a length out without it tearing down the middle. I got this to replace that, and I am happy to say this works perfectly. Absolutely zero issues with it wanting to split as I pull it off the roll. However, I can still easily tear a piece off the roll without needing scissors. It sticks well enough, but also removes easily without leaving a residue. All in all a great product for quick labels, especially in the kitchen for keeping your leftovers and homemade sauces labeled and dated.

It is a little hard to assign stars to tape because some tape is good for some projects, but not satisfactory for others. Here is what I found about this tape. First, it is not very accurately described in the listing. It says thick, and I found this to feel thinner than most I have used. That could be a problem if this was extremely tacky tape, because that would make it prone to tearing upon removal. But it is not that tacky. So if you are looking for a thick, 'till death do us part' sticky type of tape, this probably is not the right tape. But if you are looking for a lightweight, easy to apply, and easy to remove tape that will not damage the existing finish, this tape is great. And that is what I needed and it serves my purposes very well. It created a nice smooth crisp edge on smooth materials, but did allow some seepage behind the tape on a lightly textured wall. It was not noticeable when applying a color similar to the trim, but would likely be noticeable if painting an edge with very contrasting colors. So it all depends on your project. For mine, it was perfect.

So everybody thinks painters tape is either blue or the lighter even less sticky green. There could be a positive and being white in color. If you were leaving this tape on something outside for a long period of time, probably longer than you should say a couple of months, because the tape is white and not blue it might reflect light and heat and not stick as much as the blue tape would, over that time span. So that is a positive. The negative is a lot of people wouldn't recognize this as painters tape which could be easily overcome if the manufacturer simply printed the word " painters tape " on the inside of the cardboard circle next to the brand name. But you and I know it's painters tape so there shouldn't really be a problem
