I wanted to use white thinset from HD for my grout lines, 17$ a bag, and needed the stuff to do it. I used one grout bag for the whole project. The bag is pretty strong, and the inside is slick, which is easy on cleaning. Mostly used the pointer, and both tools are stout. I would think this is equal to the expensive stuff. I would buy again, but I don’t think I’ll ever need to replace these items. I washed the bag every few rounds to keep it clean. Front of house took 8 bags of thinset and a ton of time. I left the bricks mostly untouched, didn’t want to white wash it.

I was using one of the bags I brought the grout up some 20mm bluestone pavers with a 5mm grout gap. Bag was going great until it split open on the seam, started to use another bag and by the end of the grouting that to started to give way at the seam. Area I had to grout was only 60m2 and the pavers were 800mm x 400mm so not that many lines.. bags need to be reinforced along the seams.

I loved the product it worked perfectly for brick facing. If the bag had a nozzle cover and a clamp for the opening of the bag after you fill it up so that the cement won't come out because the bag is very long also you might have to get a cement rock out of the nozzle here and there.I might try cutting it down some. It's definitely worth the money and easy to clean. EASY to use aswell.

I used these piping bags to apply mortar between stone veneer on steps for my recently added sun room. The piping bags made grouting much easier than using a hawk and a pointing tool,

The reviews on this which describe the bag as breaking easily is likely because the hole was too small and or the mix was too thick. I squeezed the bag like crazy trying to get the stuff out of there my first try. If the mortar is just a little too thick and the hole is a little too small it will not come out at all.Your motor needs to be just a tad thinner than normal for it to come out but it will come out very easily. In fact a little too easily if you cut the hole bigger like I did initially to compensate for the extra thickness of my first batch of mortar which still wouldn’t come out!You can add a water reducer mix to allow it to run thinner while still using the appropriate amount of water. So, it won’t work at all if the whole is a little too small and your mix is a little too thick and it works extremely easily if the hole is a little larger and or your mix is a little thinner.
