Unfortunately I had to return this because it did not fit around the hydrant pipe. Barely wide enough to wrap around and not enough to connect the Velcro..

It went together a little funky with the velcro, but it works good once installed. I have it on the sticker going to my camper. I have a couple of bales of hay around it and Styrofoam over the handle. It keeps the water warm going in that is in the hose. I have a heated hose as well.

Seems well made, but I've been apprehensive about using it because it's made in China, and it doesn't have a UL (Underwriters Lab) rating, so I don't know about its safety. I did install it today on my metal pipe barn freeze proof hydrant because the temps have been single digits now for days. For safety's sake I'll unplug it before touching the hydrant since it's wrapped around metal, there's close proximity to water, and it's plugged into 120v.It did keep the water flowing when we had several overnights in single digits. But I did unplug it before I touched the metal hydrant. Every time.

I will start by saying I'm sorry for the length of this review. It is the best product I purchased all year. I am in complete awe of this water pipe heater. Last year, all my water lines froze using the standard heat tape. I bought so many of those for the new water lines and I barely felt heat so I looked for another solution. I found this product!I plugged the 3 ft one in the house to test and WOW, so impressed! It is durable and I installed it with ZERO problems and the only improvements I would ask for is different sizes in diameter like a 2" pipe and make it wrap around the pipe to without having to use the provided zip ties. It did go around it but I didn't want to take chances for it to open because I wouldn't know due to it's location. My water lines are in a crawl space where my underground water tanks and that is not a heated area.I reached out to the company and they offered suggestions on my 2" water pipes such as wrapping in a spiral fashion and I didn't think of that. I also realized after that suggestion to just install it so the heat would be on the bottom of the pipe using the provided zip ties. I then installed the foam insulation on the top. This is important to write on the review because the standard heat tape is installed on the bottom of the pipe but the heat difference is remarkably different. This product offers so much more which gives me confidence that my lines won't freeze unless I lose power of course. I've been checking it regularly to ensure there are no problems after the installation and it's working so well.I am so impressed with this, I bought the 6' blanket to cover more pipes. The 6' has the 2 3' blanket that connects together. I love this because I only need 1 electrical outlet. This was important to me was because of my limited outlets. I didn't want to use surge protector.I will be purchasing more to cover all of my water lines in the crawl space under my house but it will have to wait until next fall. This is a great product and you have nothing to lose because if you don't like it, it can be returned. This may sound crazy but...I am so excited! I highly recommend this to the world especially for those who live in cold climates. I'm so giddy over it.I hope this review helps.
