These depth gauges seem to work pretty well. The gauge itself is a steel probe attached to a plastic cylinder with a colorful sticker applied that provides you with the various depth measurements as well as a red, yellow, green color range for quick reference.When measuring tires, the probe slides easily but has enough resistance that it stays in place when you pull it from the tire so you can read the result.While there are no major cons that I can tell, I do wish they had printed directly on the plastic tube rather than use a sticker. However, this is just a personal gripe, the sticker does not affect its operation at all.If you're in the market for a cheap tire depth gauge, these are certainly worth a look.

Most thread depth gauges that I have used in the past have had the number printed right onto the stick part.. This way, if the ink rubbed off, the imprint of the number was still there.. With these, the center is plastic, and the numbers are just 1 big sticker wrapped around the edge of the plastic center.. The problem with this is that stickers tear, rub off, and can peel off over time.. Especially if they get wet.. For this reason, these are not good for mechanic use that uses them many times a day, on a daily basis..So do they work.. Yes.. If you only use these occasionally, then they are more than fine to use.. But IMO, if you plan on using these more than once in a while, the kind that does not have stickers for markings on them is about double the price of these, and I would just spend the extra and buy the better gauges..I took one star off because, in the listing, it makes it look like the printing is right on the center shaft, and not a sticker.. But since they are so cheap, I am only taking one star off..
