Pin 30 - +12V supply (Positive) Pin 85 - Ground (Negative) Pin 86 - +12V Trigger (signal to activate the relay) Pin 87 - Normally Open (NO), +12V connected here after delay Pin 87a - Normally Closed (NC), +12V here when no trigger voltage is present. When trigger goes high, this pin goes low after delay. Nominal operating voltage 12VDC. 11-14 VDC range.

Used in a 5th wheel RV to power up a 2nd rooftop AC unit off of the same thermostat signal that starts the 1st unit. 10 S time delay is more than adequate to ensure that the power inrush (surge) from the 1st unit has settled down before starting the second unit.

Connected to a Ford super duty truck upfitter switch to trigger a large secondary 100% duty cycle solenoid that powers my 5th wheel 30A DC-DC Victron power unit and another to power an onboard 30A air compressor. Works well, time will tell if this generic relay lasts.The two largest upfitter capacity (#5 and #6) are rated for 25A each, so can use the smaller upfitter capacity switches to trigger the solenoids (which are connected to the battery with a fused connection) after the truck has started. When the truck is turned off, the upfitter switches no longer have power so the relays do not transmit power to the solenoids and are therefore turned off as well.Connections are as follows:30+86 = 12v supply from upfitter (connected to both relay positions)85 = ground (there is a bolt next to the truck battery in the engine bay)87 = normally open, connected to other relay87a = normally closed, not connected to anything

This works, it works well. But you need to understand the wiring. This product assumes you are using standard wiring practice of post 85 to ground. From the product description you can figure out how to work this. "Pin 30 - +12V supply (Positive) Pin 85 - Ground (Negative) Pin 86 - +12V Trigger (signal to activate the relay) Pin 87 - Normally Open (NO), +12V connected here after delay Pin 87a - Normally Closed (NC), +12V here when no trigger voltage is present."My implementation (cooling fan) had a ground trigger to post 86 and constant voltage to post 85. I simply built a jumper to supply voltage to 86 and my ground trigger to 85. If you are experiencing problems with this out of the box, take a look at your 85 and 86 posts on your socket.

I used it to insure full extension of a linear actuator for my door lock system. It eliminated an extra part in my system and saved space.For my application, it would be nice to be able to adjust the time off delay interval, but no big deal. I like it!

I put it into a compressor that’s onboard my f150. I start my truck and then 10 seconds later if the air tank is low, the compressor kicks on. Without it the starter and compressor are fighting for battery power.
