These are basically cheap aluminum You'd be better off buying from the Dollar store or plastic ones. Threw them away.

These are good-looking palettes, I just wish that the stainless steel were about twice as thick. The metal measures 0.019 inches thick, or about 26 gauge if you're into that stuff. That's not a lot thicker than the walls of a beer can. This thickness will probably be just fine -- no one is likely to attack them with blunt weapons, but they would have been perfect with more heft.Update: After using these trays for a bit, I have come to appreciate how lightweight they are. They're beefy enough that they'll not crumble in your hand, but a pleasure to hold for hours of detailed painting without getting fatigued. So I've updated this review and added a fifth star.

For painters and makeup fans, the two-piece stainless steel palette watercolor pigment trays are useful instruments. These trays have a sturdy, corrosion-resistant, and easily cleaned stainless steel design. For blending watercolor colors, acrylic paints, or even cosmetics, the smooth surface is perfect. To keep various colors distinct and arranged, each palette usually has multiple wells or compartments, which facilitate accurate color blending and mixing. They are a useful option for studio use as well as on-the-go creative tasks because of their elegant, polished appearance.
